Go! Look! A hack for Zelda 3: A Link to the Past that turns it into an entirely new game! I've played a few Zelda 1 hacks, and I've always been hoping for a Zelda 3 one, and there it is! AT LAST!
Also, it's like .... hard, or something. I think I spent the first hour or two delving through catacombs without a sword, fighting off guards with any pots that happened to be lying around. Not like you kids today all set up with your shiny little knives and shields! Back in my day, we had to WORK for our weapons!
Ok, I'll shut up. But seriously, go check it out.
... Oh yeah, also stumbled upon this in my excursions:

It's a video of some guy who hijacked a WGN station 20 years ago. Is that not the most surreal thing you've ever seen?

As far as Zelda 1 hacks, I think the best (and most ambitious) one I've played was Zelda 1 Challenge by Challenge Games. I'm not sure if the group is still around though, but at the time they made some top level game hacks the completely altered the game and sometimes utilized new methods and concepts to classics.
Hmm ... not sure if I've played Zelda Challenge. The last Zelda hack I played was Zelda Classic, which was a basically just a little Zelda engine emulator. Since it was standalone, it was inherently good for hacks ... hey, it's still around! http://www.zeldaclassic.com/
Continuing on, looks like you gave me another game to play once I beat Legend of Legaia @.@ <3
Oh yeah, that TV pirate... there was a show called TV pirates about 20 years ago as well in Sweden, I hardly remember it. I guess it was inspired by those accidents, even if I never heard it happening in Sweden.
Damn, it would shitted my pants if this happened while I was watching TV.
Not sending a surreal video. >_>
Yes, I thought to check out that "certain community" too after hearing about this. I've only read the first few pages, but so far almost everyone reviles the game just because the guardhouse is too hard. Ungrateful plebeians!
And yes, I will... whenever I have the time. >_>
I can't even get into the guardhouse *cries*
