2015, how to summarize you? It feels like it was so short and also, so long! And it is over already. I had a lot of great memories, and a lot of sad memories. It could possibly be my happiest year and my scariest year at the same time, but I doubt that. I have had much happier years ;3 *coughcoughwedding* Overall I can say it was a learning experience, and am looking forward to moving on.
It is probably the most I have ever felt self-doubt throughout a year. Even with a better job than cashiering ((my past job)) I have still struggles with feeling important or like I am moving forward. I have started adventuring into Dealers Dens, and even made it to MFF DD in December. That was amazing. Without college teaching me and moving me forward I then moved on to wedding planning that gave me something to plan and move forward. For 2015, what was there? No big plans such as a wedding or college graduation. Moving to dealers dens is probably my big move up of the year. And what for 2016? I have been inspired by so many of my friends moving away from Ohio, onto bigger and better things. I want to be like them, always growing!
I need to propel myself farther, WITHOUT more debt/college. I need to take more upon myself in learning animation, through online classes most likely.
So, with the support of my amazing mate katalist we have made the decision to move to Georgia in July 2016, and live with their parents (who are more than welcoming) in order to save up for a bigger move in 2017. Our current end goal is to move to the west coast or Canada. With our current bills we are having difficulty saving money to move so far right away. A year with parents should be ample to put rent aside, at most two years.
Meanwhile I will be working on my portfolio and ALWAYS applying for more art jobs. I cannot wait to delve into animation again as soon as I can set aside time to learn and purchase classes. Maybe 1 week every month should be for portfolio work instead of commissions, something to get me moving. Who knows, maybe I will be hired sooner than 2017 or sooner than we even move to GA! I am still hoping to attend SIGGRAPH 2016. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIGGRAPH ) However with the move, and an additional family trip in July, we will have to see how things go.
I do want to thank my watchers, family, friends, and followers for all of their support. You grow in number every convention that I go to and always amaze me with your warmth and kindness. I am starting to get more and more take home commissions from conventions, and heck, even when I go to a convention and do not sell at a table, you still seek me out and inquire about art! That really amazes me and makes me feel so warm inside.
Last year I made a good resolution and kept it. Which was saving for and obtaining a partial fursuit. This year I hope I can do it again in saving for a new home/job in Canada or the west coast. Or you know, west coast Canada! And applying to even more jobs and doing more personal art.
The next convention I will be selling at is Great Lakes Fur Con. My next conventions for fun are Fur Squared, FWA, and Motor City Furry Con.
Thank you again everyone, stay beautiful!
