My ear lobes have never been pierced. It’s weird because I’m female and already have a tattoo. I have an aunt who always insisted my mom should’ve gotten my ears pierced when I was little. So, since my aunt gave me $40 for my birthday[the 15th], I decided to use it to pierce my ears.
I walk into a tattoo parlor near school and ask how much it would be to get my ears pierced. The guy said $5. He must’ve seen the look on my face, because he said "that’s for the gun, it’s $30 with a needle." I tell him I’d rather use the needle, but he really tries to sell me on the gun.
Finally, I convince him I want the needle, but I feel iffy about the fact he tried to sell me the less safe technique.
So, when he shows me the "rings" [barbells are not rings, and professionals shouldn’t make this mistake, but I assumed he said ring for my benefit.] I can get for free with the piercing, I ask if they’re internally or externally threaded. He says "what ?"

He says he can’t speak English well. Dude, I just had a perfectly fluent conversation with you. How do you talk to someone in English for ten minutes, then say you can’t speak English ? Besides, THIS IS YOUR JOB. I mean, that’s what you do, you pierce. Body jewelry is your trade. I don’t know the melting point of lead, but if I asked a chemist, I’d expect an answer.
So, yeah, ears are still not pierced..
