I don't think virtual reality is such a good idea

I may be in the minority here about that concept. I'm sure many people already think on playing they fav games with the oculus rift, making and watching through the eyes of their own character in a virtual world doing something. Or play new games and feeling them more alive and up close than ever, in short terms, playing more realistic.
That is what I fear, despite of how real all may look, I hope people don't lose contact with what is real and what is not, wanting to just play all the time in a fake interactive world instead of the one that is real. And you know there will be extremist people that may live alone and have their virtual dog, virtual better looking house and such....
What I want to say is that I just hope this game doesn't separate gamers more from reality, I mean the real reality. Not just say screw this world and "go" to a virtual one because it looks better, we are suppose to try our best to make it look better.
I know if I play that game I might like it a lot, but I prefer games to stay as games, not a religion, not an all the time way to live, and mostly, not an excuse to escape from the real problems of the world all the time. I have no problem with others buying the game. But seems risky for who I am. x3

VR in this sense amplifies the game experience much like watching a movie in IMAX amplifies a theater / home experience, IMO.
For example, one big reason I'm excited for VR in existing-examples is the racing game Dirt Rally. Being able to actively turn your head inside a car in that game due to VR helps not only with immersion but also in terms of gameplay lets you look around previously-blind corners and anticipate the track more.
It's an improvement to gaming but far from a replacement to reality... for now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2cBYKcpz0g It may look slight, but just enough to turn your head a bit in a car goes a long way towards making that racing sim genre feel ever so more realistic... and VR is both cheaper and safer than real rally driving will ever be.
But really, even if we do get some VR stuff, its too early to be much good, and definitely WAY too expensive for the average gamer to go for. And of course the kinks to work out with medical problems that might arise. Not like the ones you mentioned, but real medical problems. For example there might be some out there that react to VR like an epileptic does to your average game with flashing lights and such. But my main points are that the price will be way too ridiculous to realistically imagine anyone other than those super rich kid gamers to play. Thousands of dollars for the console alone. And likely a couple hundred for a game. But Im just guessing. And personally Id love to see a VR game like what one can find in an anime. Such as SAO, or Overlord. That kinda detail and such. But like the others so fzar have said thats a LONG way off.
