Oh, my... Baldur's Gate! How exquisite!

I have always wanted to start playing these gems! Should I start with the first or the second?

First would be best! You'll learn and experience a fantastic game as well. Also, you can export your character from BG1 after you beat the game into BG2, that really helps replayability.

Ah the memories! I need to play the Enhanced version yet. If your main character dies in BG, then it's game over! IceWind Dale has not such a tiny flaw: You are a group of six, so one can always cast resurrection, if an "accident" was happening.

You are now playing with a Masterpiece of a game! The story is epic! Be sure to beat it as slow as possible, and also savor every little thing, because when I was playing it through, after the ending of each game...I felt empty. It was such an epic adventure, that finishing it made the world feel dull for the next couple of days.

Just a really minor fun fact: Custom portraits. Feel free to upload Furry pictures to them! Go on adventuring with the people you like very much! Bring your kinky friends along! (Actually, you can only change your portrait in BG...all six members in IWD) This is a minor feature...just mentioning the possibility to play as Syldria if you want to! (Not to mention, that you can change the model of the player too to something more...scally/furry)

For sure, great games! I've actually played through BG1 a couple times already, but it's got such a high replay value because of all of the open areas you can explore, not to mention the whole being able to hoard all of the stat books on your main, beat the game, then export your character over to BG2 with the stats intact.

I played through with a Cleric first.
Swashbuckler second.
Sorcerer is all the way near the end of the game, reached the last level of Durlag's Tower.

This LP is with a brand new character, went with a Totemic Druid for spirit animal summons, should be fun stuff.

Sadly, I don't think the EE is very mod-friendly, it'd be neat to do what you suggested though!

If my memory serves right, changing your main's appearance is not a mod, but an in-game cheat. You just need to open the console, select your character, and enter the model changing cheat like a 100 times. Can become any humanoid and NPC character, and even any monster...Yup. Dragons too! *makes the world's widest evil grin* >:3

The downside is that you cannot see anything, when per say a dragon decides to go indoors with True form on. Yet it was fun just to try the different models out...long hours of fun.

Ahh! Pretty awesome, although for a LP I'm going to stick to the honest thing and also a no-reload challenge. If I screw up, living with the consequences.

Thaxll'ssillyia the shadow dragon. In BG2 , yup. Same model as Nizidramanii'yt who is a black dragon, and who isn't talking to the "Meal"...Their names are soo difficult to write down or speaking up...for mortals.

Actually, I was using a tiny bunny model and hopped around,. Was funny when it has started casting spells, and the effects were appearing above the bunny. It was tiny enough to hop around indoors too!

No reload is a tough challenge to beat. Flesh to Stone, Death's finger, Dezintegrate, Imprisonment and Banshee/Demi-Lich Howl are instant death spells. Your main should be always well protected, since it can easily be a Game Over.

You definitely aren't supposed to face those peeps at level 2.

It's slightly unbalanced...as real life. One should be careful who to pick a fight with. Buffing your party, and getting fully prepared, and have some serious magic at the ready, and these guys will fall easily. Revenge is OH'so sweet! >:3

Hahah, well that's fine, but I'm there far too early at level 2. Every arrow is hitting, at 3 I'll revisit. Actually, Edwin is level 1 for some reason. Playing with Core rules, so mobs hit regularly, that is quite hard to an underleveled party.

Protection from normal missiles would help sooooo much. Also a werewolf druid, with normal weapon immunity. A pity, that you haven't got the Slayer Form from BG2...that would slay them easily without even trying...the tricky part is, when it turns against my party, and I had to flee from it, until I reverted back to myself. Not had Protection of Evil on my party. Don't remember if it helps against the Slayer Form or not. D:

Ah yes, PFNM would help quite a bit, although that's quite an expensive scroll to splash some coin on or it'll come much later into the game.

Hah, the Slayer would be overkill definitely. I don't think it helps against the Slayer, as it's technically not a summoned fiend, more like a transformation.

Imagine my confusion when I went to sleep, then awoken to find the slayer attacking from up close. My party was all "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" then I tried to find my main character, only to discover, that I was the Slayer just out of sight until the transformation lasted! It was a generously written scene. My heart was racing because I didn't knew where it came and where my main went...Same surprise at SW:KotOR about Darth Revan's identity. Such perfectly written scenes are the reason I keep playing games with epic story behind them.

BEST change in the original content was: When you Pause the game to give commands, and enter the Inventory screen, the game stays paused, as in BG2 and IWD was. BG1 is so much more enjoyable with that feature!

Nice. I was building a Kensai-mage dual class character for fun in BG:ToB, since the Greater whirlwind unleashes 10 attack in 1 round, without penalties, while some mage spells buff me against spells and magic attacks. This is needed because the kensai cannot wear a few armor pieces, but dual classing it to a rogue and with the rouge ability "Use any item" this can be negated, thus kensai can be equipped with some major goodies, and the buffs can be done by an other party member. Would have been good to know it back then.

My weakens with fantasy setting is, that a warrior and alike class can use more items, while the spellcasting class can only wear robes and such, yet I am choosing a spellcasting class, because it's more pretty to vanquish your foes with something flashy, then with a sword-strike...Sure, there are unique looking swords, maces, etc, which are a delight to see in action, but they are either unique or legendary items and only appearing too late in the game. Spellcasting rules!

I dunno, it's pretty awesome to chunk enemies to little bits with crit hits using a two-hander. X)

I am handy with a Bo - Quarterstaff and as a priestess I wield a staff given to me by one of Tiamat's direct servant...this chromatic black dragon weapon is yet to be made but it would be having an extra acidic damage on it, so it would be easy to force locks open, or kill trolls for good. I am also handy with a short sword (Kodachi) but i never was too much of a sparring expert. I defeat most sword-fighters with my shear force of the swing, and effortlessly wielding the sword, like it was weightless, and the incoming attacks almost powerless. The enchantment on this sword is Absorbing-recasting Magic, and self-repair when bloodied (blood drinker - life stealing) or killing a foe. Effectively it defends me, rather then being an attack weapon. That one is more well thought out, but yet has to be drawn.

It's so much more awesome to spray their bodies with acid and watch them melt...or burn to a crisp when a fireball explodes in the middle of a party of adventurers!

I'm using the belt of Hill Giant Strength to offset my normally poor STR of 16 and Swashbucklers get incredibly powerful later in levels because of the +1 to THAC0 / AC every 5 levels.

Anyhow, that's a lovely descriptive bit of what possibilities there are with your character and I wouldn't mind adventuring with her in the slightest, that is if she'd accept me of course being such a powerful priestess!

I've watched a few of them and it's a good show so far. I will surely watch some more later when I'll be able. =)

I think 15 minute chunks aren't too bad, there will be lots of them but it's a decent way to segment cuts into other scenes. ^^

I'm watching the Yogscast and their videos range from 10 minutes to 30 minutes and sometimes 2 hours long. 15 minutes is perfectly fine by me. =)
