What's new pussy cat???
I had a tough day yesterday, after finding out David Bowie past away. I don't know how I got through the day. He was a musician/singer for me, at first. The first song I probably really remember was probably Let's Dance. People mention their inspiration by his older or more popular songs, but Let's Dance was catchy and has a great video. Then China Girl came out and that was different from the previous song. It also has a great video to it.
But then I started getting into his older stuff, Space Oddity was probably one of his best songs from the 70's. Then other songs like Fame and Changes. We also have Under Pressure, a duet with David Bowie and Queen, a great collaboration between 2 powerhouses in the music industry.
As I was watching some of David Bowie's recent videos, including the last 2 from his last album, I never realized on how dark his music has become. I really like where he went with it and it sounds awesome.
Sadly, the only movie I ever saw, that he was in, was Labyrinth. It's a great movie and I love the visual effects and storyline.
I will have to start buying and/or looking up some more of his music, in the near future. I do plan on buying Blackstar, his last album.
David Bowie will forever be heard inside my head at times and he will make me smile, even if it is just for a moment. I have some great memories of his music and his videos. So, Let's Dance and remember him forever.
EDIT: One last thing I forgot to mention, David Bowie had a great song on the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack, Moonage Daydream.
