explanatory croc

a message in a bottle floats lazily down the river towards you...
now that i have a fair few characters, i thought maybe i should explain their personalities and where they came from and all that shite
darky/mr bitey
darky is a saltwater crocodile, which is probably my favourite animal ever, and has been pretty much all my life. darky represents me most of the time. hes tall and skinny, with a massive wad of hair that extends down to his arse, which is rarely tied back. he has fairly heavy green scutes on most of his body, with thinner cream scales on his stomach and inner arms/legs. hes sedentary and relaxed, non-judgemental and good-natured, and is generally quite stoic and non-emotional. he spends most of his time lazing around, taking it easy, not getting riled up by anything. hes also the only character who id prefer be referred to by name, rather than his nickname. not that mr bitey is a bad nickname, but this guy represents me more than the others. hes my main guy.
his associated colour is blue, and his associated music genre is classic/alternative rock. his favourite food is pork chops. he usually wears a band shirt and comfy jeans - the height of fashion.
aculeus/mr pinchy
pinchy is a deathstalker scorpion. unlike darky, he usually has his hair tied back. hes probably my most well-built character, although thats only because he has a heavy exoskeleton that bulks him up. as is typical with scorpion species that subdue their prey with their stingers, his claws arent especially strong. however, his stinger is full of potent venom (or aphrodisiac if youre so inclined), so be careful! ive always liked scorpions and other arachnids, although not as much as most reptiles. pinchy is more like my emotional side. while his default state is usually 'angry', im making him more like all emotions in ridiculous amounts. hes like kratos from god of war. he just feels too many emotions at once and its all so overwhelming and it makes him mad. of course im very rarely emotional - most of my anger pops out when i play online games, particularly tf2. im almost never filled with emotion, positive or negative - im rarely ecstatic or furious or anything. as a result, if i drew my characters according to how i felt most of the time, pinchy would probably show up the least. thats not to say i NEVER get emotional, though, as the people ive ranted to about stuff will attest
his associated colour is yellow, and his associated music genre is heavy/thrash metal. his favourite food is blue steak. he usually wears a vest and ripped jeans - because hes too mad to keep his clothes in good shape.
barbute/mr scissors
scissors is a dunkleosteus, an extinct placoderm from the devonian period. his head and shoulders are covered in natural armour, and he has no teeth - those are extensions of the jawbone and are more like blades. he has no hair, but he has extra armour reminiscent of hair sticking out of his head. hes my 'evil' side i guess. hes not really evil, hes just kind of horrible. hes cruel and sadistic and takes pleasure in the suffering of others. my friends will attest that i have a truly disgraceful sense of humour and apparently i give the impression that i have nothing but utter disinterest in the lives and welfare of people i dont know. i got the idea of a character like this when ozzy assigned the lounge lads birdsonas and gave me a tiny white bird that doesnt give a shit about its own kids, much to my amusement. if this side of me is so prominent, then i guess i should make it into a character. however, scissors also has a softer side. through all my nasty jokes about dead babies and bantering of my mates, i really do care about people i know. when sneeze smashed up his nose, i ensured he was alright before taking the piss out of him. scissors would be that sort of guy. despite how unpleasant he is, hes also very loyal to friends.

kel/ms rippy
every page needs a hot chick, and i guess rippy is mine. rippy is a kestrel, which is a kind of small falcon. she has dangerhair, sharp claws, and a hooked beak, perfect for eviscerating prey, although she mostly uses it to peck people playfully. she has probably the most vibrant colour scheme amongst my characters, although she is still somewhat subdued compared to some characters ive seen. rippy is my extraverted side that pops out when ive been drinking, usually. when i drink, my ability to talk about shit increases about a hundredfold. like i cannot shut up when ive been drinking. constant stream of consciousness. its pretty terrible, honestly, and shes exactly the same. sit with rippy and prepare to spend an hour listening to her lecture you about the finer points of fried rat. shes pretty chatty when shes with people she knows without booze, too. around strangers she keeps to herself a bit more.
her associated colour is red, and her associated music genre is hip hop/rap. her favourite food is rat meat. she usually wears a massively oversized t-shirt and skinny jeans - big t-shirts breathe better!

they all really like eating meat, although perhaps to varying amounts, with darky eating it most often, and pinchy eating it least often (hes not a big eater).
theyre all into music, but darky and rippy are more into it than pinchy or scissors. the former would consider it a main interest, while the latter would consider it a secondary interest.
