need advice concerning computer junk [figured]
heres the actual scenario
So I have this old ipod that I've put a lot of time and effort filling up.
I've recently obtained a new computer and would like to start filling it up again (its been a few years)
The original computer that has all of the files is long gone and I'm afraid that plugging it in will destroy everything I've put on there?
Not to mention, its about 10000 songs and I don't need all that space bein taken up once I do plug it in. Looking into getting an external hard drive to store it all.
I don't have a lot of knowledge with computers or how this sorta stuff works, so I apologize if this is real stupid or whatever
But oh yea so I do have this computer.. Would also like to apologize for all the art that looks pretty shitty now that I have a decent monitor haha

damn butter fingers
I could ask my dad he is a computer wiz
i used itunes to sync all the music onto it, and I know they have a thing thatll delete all the songs if I try to put them back on or somethin
I have an old ipod classic that I was able to set to "hard drive mode" or something like that in itunes- after that you should be able to select it from your computer (like you would a USB drive) and copy/paste your music. It'll all be titled with random letters and numbers in the folders due to whatever encryption process apple uses, but all the track information should show up normally once you import it into your music program (whatever program you use should have an option to select which folder to import music from.)
SORRY THAT'S SORT OF VAGUE, it's the basic idea anyway! Your best bet is to google something like "upload music from [whatever type of ipod you have]" for a more direct tutorial. Just make sure the auto sync is disabled before you plug it in!
Definitely going to be getting an external hard drive before I attempt it.
so smart and lovely~
