- "20k" Coming Soon -

I'd like to formally announce that pre-production of my major animated short has begun.

The working title will remain “20k” until I register for copyright on the final work.


- Concept -

- “20k” will be an animated short (between 9 and 18 minutes long) based the classic
science-fiction of Jules Verne, primarily “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”.

“20k” sets Verne’s tale in a re-imagined aeronautical world. Floating cities, mountain
peek islands, and cloud seas provide a unique locale for this retold classic.

The characters will be redesigned as anthropomorphic (furry) animals, and adjusted
to fit the Anime stylized Vernean world (2D with 3D elements).

A combination of Techno and Steam-punk styles will be given to the cloudy settings
of “20k” and its many air vessels.

There are a few more twists to the original story and concepts, but I’ll save those for later
as nothing is set in stone yet and, like the above concepts, will be subject to change.

Vocal talent hasn’t been cast yet. However, I’m likely to use some of the actors from
Evangel University and fill in where I can myself.


- Release Information –

I’d like to have enough material ready by the end of July to make a teaser/trailer.
“20k” is scheduled to finish pre-production before the end of summer 2009.
The Production will be completed in time for its premiere on “Movie Night”
at the end of the Fall semester, shown at Evangel University.
The DVD release should be ready soon after that, scheduled to be available around
Christmas 2009.
