Requests are for CLOSE friends only! Hey guys -- Long-ish journal ahead.
I've been going through some stuff personally and then also with my mate. He's got a couple serious issues he's going through and they've been a lot worse as of late.
Currently he's got a seriously bad back problem that's been making him work from home or miss work entirely. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. A couple days the other week I had to actually drive our roommate to work since they usually carpool. I take care of him on the daily whenever he needs it. However, with his back being out, I need to help him up and to walk around etc.
On top of helping him out, I've also got to take care of the house both inside and out. With his chronic condition (no, not his back) it's hard for him to do strenuous things. We have 3 dogs and they all need care of course -- one of those dogs is a husky and she sheds a BUNCH. One of them is having severe allergies so I need to constantly watch him like a hawk so he doesn't chew his butt into oblivion and get an infection. (Since no one else can be bothered to watch him.) Yes, we have 2 roommates, but I still take care of everything from dishes to vacuuming to the outside work. So, while I may be working from home on artwork (yes, that's my job), it's not glorious. I still have to keep myself going on my owed commissions as well as keeping up on maintaining the house. So, I do apologize on the length of time that some of the commissions are taking, but I am still working even if it's a little more slowly than I had been working.
I'm still very much in need of work especially right now as we do have a very serious bill that needs to be taken care of.... It's almost there, but I need to get as much work as possible.
Now what does this mean? I'm definitely going to be doing some other work on the side as EMERGENCY funds. This might include a YCH or some other form of selling artwork.

I hope you two will be alright. I know he suffers a lot from that issue. :<
You might be able to try aback massage? Or maybe have him lay on his front and put a hot water bottle on his back, or even ice, if it's swollen.
Some of that pain relief gel might also help.
Spasms? Might have a misaligned spinal column that presses against the nerves when he moves
Though i'm sure it's not that, as i bet he's already seen the doctor/chiropracter.
But yeah.. the best you can do its keep his lower back pushed up with a pillow when he lays down in bed,
Though i still think the pain relief gel might help out when it does spasm.
He also has to sit up all day, so he uses a pillow for support. It's when he doesn't have any or whenhe's getting up and down that it spasms... Might try the gel, honestly.
