Whelp, that's number 4

Just got back from seeing Star Wars... for the fourth time :P
It's currently my record holder for movies seen, second being Independence Day three times and Avatar third, seen twice.
And in before "I hated Star Wars, because of this, this, this, and yes, that" or "Worst movie since the prequels, this is NOT Star Wars" and of course, the popular "Anyone that spends money on this movie is a retard and is only giving money to Disney to fuck up Star Wars". I don't want to hear it.

What kind of nonsense is that, who he fuck says shit like this?
Just fuck it...I loved watching that film. Purists can go shove their lightsaber dildos up their asses.
Seriously, help me understand if you have the patience to.
However, I do believe there's one thing that really has to be addressed here more than anything else- though racing can be a form of high-speed piloting, much like how being a race car driver involves driving a car. When Obi-Wan said Anakin was a good pilot, showing him off as a pod racer shows off his talent for piloting vehicles.
So calling Anakin a good pilot, even when he's only piloting a ground vehicle, is actually pretty good.
Might as well say that Luke wasn't a very good pilot before the Battle of Yavin because T-16s don't count, either.
And then we get into the whole bit about Anakin being a slave who had to perform well to keep his master happy at an age where he likely isn't yet completely aware of his own mortality, whereas Luke was just showing off for his friends.
Because I know I can watch it to death on DVD. :D
And while yeah, it's nice to experance it on the full screen for less then 10 dollars, including ticket, popcorn and drink... I do have to watch my money some. ^_^V
Hell, on Mondays, tickets are 3 dollars.
As a teenager.
So not exactly nothing.
But he ceased being effective as soon as the credits rolled for The Empire Strikes Back. I guess the big payday made the Mandalorian soft.
(If I were Boba, as soon as the creds cleared my account from Jabba and Vader, I would have gone and taken a very looong vacation. Maybe bought myself my own moon or something. Hanging out with Jabba... not very high on my to-do list. Even if Jabba is a wealthy and powerful Hutt, his taste in decor is horrible and Tatooine is not a place that I would choose to live intentionally.)
I can understand wanting to stay the hell away from Nar Shadda, but Tatooine isn't much of an improvement. Simply fewer people and a reduced likelihood of getting stabbed in the back (or accidentally offending a Hutt, as Jabba seems to be the only one on Tatooine).
There's Lothal, Yavin 4, Saleucami, D'Qar, Dantoonie... I'd take any of them over Tatooine in an instant. To say nothing of any of the countless unnamed worlds of the Outer Rim. And if I thought I could keep a low profile, I'd even be willing to take a shake at living on Naboo. (Naboo is actually the planet that, of those shown in the movies and TV shows that I would probably prefer to live on. It takes second place to Alderaan, but, well, Alderaan is not really inhabitable any more.)
(Imagine that. Lucas was out of touch with the fans even in 1983.)
But each movie has its ups and downs. Disney had to do something to bridge episode 6, the old gen fans with the new gen fans for episode 7. I kinda wished they put out Rogue One first before doing episode 7. I think they may have had a better brainstorming script session for episode 7 by doing that.
and if someone else pointed that earlier in the comments then sorry... kinda busy and didnt read through it just yet.
I kinda agree with the Rogue One, but on the flip side, I think it'll be more popular now that ep7 is out than if it was its own movie before it came out. I do have my own gripes about 7, but overall, I'm much happier with it than all three prequels combined :D
lmao... did you hear about people trying to do a petition to get lucas to do the next episode... i was like... you stupid mother fudgemuckers... stop drinking bleach and stay away from mah star wars lawn.
I honestly don't understand what any hate is all about. Granted, the first time I saw it I did notice a _lot_ of recurring themes from the original trilogy. But the 2nd time watching, I could just focus on the story and cinematography, and it was absolutely gorgeous.
(And just for contrast, we watched Phantom Menace on DVD the week after the 2nd showing... it's an even bigger pile of inexcusable horrid steaming wank than I remembered.)
1: Force Sensitive "prodigy"
2: Found on a desert planet
3: Royal figure that acts more like a warrior
4: Death of a major character (Jedi)
5: Escape from clutches of evil
6: Huge space battle, prodigy is savior
Yep, ep.7 was such a rip off of ep. 4.
So sue me.
But I have seen Star Wars: Uncut and The Empire Strikes Back: Uncut where a fan cut the movies up into 15 second bits, posted them online, asked fans to remake those clips in whatever style they wanted, send them to him, and he recombined them into complete movies:

I have also seen Star Wars I-III A Phantom Edit, where another fan combined the prequels into one movie, leaving out all the boring bits. It's not that bad. Essentially, it's the story of how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader:

Now it's fine if Ep. 7 is basically a retelling of Ep. 4 - IF EPISODES 8 & 9 TAKE THE STORY IN A NEW AND DIFFERENT DIRECTION. We remake and retell stories all the time. It's not really a big deal.
"Very little art is truly original. Everything borrows from the inspirational art that we received from our parents’ generation. Star Wars was meant to evoke The Hidden Fortress. The Hidden Fortress was meant to evoke the folk tales of the Tokugawa Shogunate. The mythology of the Tokugawa Shogunate was meant to hearken back to a (supposed) civil age, prior to the divisive Sengoku Period. And so on. Everything draws from a long time ago, and a place far far away." - John Perich, "Star Wars Episode I: The Seven Warriors" http://www.overthinkingit.com/2010/.....ined/?page=all
