Stray catgirl found

I stumbled upon these old images while cleaning out my hard drive. Character's a cute red catgirl named Hellcat, and she was designed by an artist called Angelicdeath back in 2004. I found the artist's DA page was deactivated, and no trace of these images I've posted could be found anywhere else online.
Is there a way to lay claim on abandoned intellectual property if the original creator/owner can't be found or contacted? Because I feel like adopting this stray cat. :v

you can use her all you want so long as you do not make money from her.
IE: she can never be a marvel character or appear in a comic book.
The copyright system is hella fucked up thanks to Disney cramming a mouse in the gears >.<
Also searching for the artist comes up with nothing.
Best thing you can do is just make a nice bed, pour a glass of milk, and temporarily adopt this orphaned kitty girl. She's probably scared after seeing all your old files.
Also yeah I would assume so, lots of early 2000's art survives through crappy Photoshops drifting through the web, passed down through old Gaia Online profiles and RP sites, through "nightcore" image thumbnails on YouTube and RP forums.
Everything dated before that looks like a looney tunes copy and paste, or was weirdly proportioned like fan mangas, or was a shitty penciljob
Sure there are exceptions but
