I am serious, is the fandom based on sex?
I want to say no....but then i would be lieing. It seems like its based on sex alone, and thats wrong. Yes, I draw sexual pictuers, but I also draw non sexual pictures...but noone cares about them, they only care if they are sexual.
the fandom is gone, theres a few furs still left in the fandom, but most of them are just fuckin fanboys! I am a fur, I have been since I was like....hell I dont even know, but I always have been. Granted when I found the fandom I will admit to being a fanboy, but after a couple of year i relized that being a fur isnt about the sex, its about undertsnading the world around you, apperceating everything life has to offer and being intouch with the animal thats inside of everyone!
its just sad at how many good artists that are like that stop drawing and leave the fandom because they are too "old" COME ON! I know quite a few good furry artists that are older then most of us and they still draw! if you fucking think, for one second, that being a fur is for young gay guys your an idiot!
I know stright guys, stright girls, gay guys and gay girls(and dont start that crap about them being lesbins not gays, hell, if you start that I will bitch you out and say this, "GAY MEANS HAPPY YOU STUPID NOOB SO STFU!") all of them that are both furs and non furs.
Your sexual preference and if you enjoy sex doesnt make you a fur, that will never make you a fur, you will always be a fanboy if thats what you beleave makes a fur.

I've Faved pieces by you and other FA artists that are G rated, and I'm not the only one who has done so. Most of my own art that I post in my FA gallery is G rated - and I'm not the only one who does that.
I have been aware of the prominent animal part of myself since childhood when I discovered that under ideal conditions, I could track wild rabbits by scent. I knew even back then that I understood non-human animals much more easily than humans. It wasn't until very recently that I found out why - I have high performing Asperger's syndrome. But I gained far more than I lost.
Are there a lot of people on FA just because they like the sexy pictures? Sure. But you have overlooked the fact that about 80 percent of the pictures on FA are G rated.
Are most FA members furry in the sense that they recognize, encourage, and love the animal within them? No. Most FA members just like the art, whether it is G, M, or A.
Please don't overlook the fact that real furrys like you and me enjoy sex and sexual imagery.
I'm about to speculate, so I ask that you correct me if I'm wrong: I suspect that you have met FA members in real life who wanted to have sex with you but who were totally devoid of any contact with their inner animal. They like the sexy art on FA, but are no more furry in the sense that applies to you and me than the average reader of Playgirl.
Those whose inner animal are an inherent and important part of themselves are in a minority on FA and everywhere else, except at a Therian howling.
Would I love for my animal and your animal to get each other wet and then go have fun like animals in heat in my hot springs? Sure! There is nothing wrong with liking that. What is wrong is your assuming that everyone on FA is devoid of a truly furry heart; it isn't entirely so.
Try to have reasonable expectations about other FA members. It isn't realistic to expect that most of them have truly furry hearts. It is equally unrealistic to think that none of them do. Don't give up - keep hunting for the friends and mates that you want. Giving up won't find them for you. You are doomed to a loneliness barren of truly furry hearts only if you give up. Please believe me, that feel what you lack in your life, and that type of emptiness is disheartening.
Ask them if they love the outdoors.
Ask them if they love watching wild animals.
Ask them if they have ever howled with coyotes.
Ask them if they are part animal, and if so to tell you about it.
Ask them if they have had any spiritual/mystical experiences with wild animals, and if so, to tell you about them.
If they answer "no" to the above, they are just an ordinary human in a fursuit looking for an quick lay. There is nothing wrong with that, but it isn't a good foundation for a long term sexual-lover-partner relationship for someone who is truly furry.
If they invite you out to the wilderness to howl with the coyotes, they are a true furry.
Just ask. Their answers will tell you what you need to know. Questions like these tend to drive away non-furrys because they think that you must be nuts, so ask away and induce self-deselection by non-furrys.
Just don't give up when 98% of them find an excuse to break off the conversation and hurry away from the crazy character who thinks that he is an animal. When I was a child, my parents threatened my with a future as an inmate in an insane asylum because I looked upon animals as role models and insisted that all humans were animals. They vehemently thought otherwise, and my bringing science into the dispute just made them more angry. Sigh... Keep hunting. The alternatives are unacceptable.
