If you think your art is bad, take another look at how many favs and watchers you have, If your art was as bad as you think it is, why would you have gained such a following? Hell I may not fav much of your art but I still enjoy looking at it ^^

Besides, there is a lot of people out there who just feel the need to stir up shit that really is none of their business, which seems to be the case with the people on that link, I would chock it up more to the anti-furry sentiment more then anything else. They probably get off on trying to break someone's spirit.

6k watchers is hardly a mark of a bad artist, but at the same time, it almost seems like you're fishing. Haters will hate, those that can't will try to destroy those who can. However, that is the mark of a good artist, is that the arguments are baseless. However, if that is your choice, then it was fun.

you are one of my favorite artists, i love your work, you cannot be a bad person just because of how people flame you. i would honestly hate to see you pack up and give up, there are far too few artists who are of your caliber.

Your art is far from terrible, in fact it's good. I see no reason for you to give it up. I say you ignore what they're saying, and if you enjoy doing art, you continue to do it. Everyone has their own opinion on what they consider 'good' and 'bad' art. It has always been like that, and always will be like that. What actually matters is that there are a lot of people who enjoy your style of art. And that should be what you should be focusing on. The goal of anyone should be to better themselves and do the things they enjoy doing. If you feel you were somehow in the wrong, which it seems to me you weren't, you should ask those whom truely care about you and wish to see you succeed what you could improve on. And I'm not talking us people here on the internets who only at best partly know you, I'm saying people you trust completely. I cannot see how the rants of people - of questionable morality, prooven gullibility, lacking in sophistication and, most of all, dabbling in things either not theirs or if theirs, lacking the balls to do so by showing their flags - about any perceived or real actions of yours have anything to do with your skills as an artists, your personal, private motivations and troubles, your obligations, personal moral convictions and what-not.

Admittedly, stuff like this is one of the few perks I find in never having had a partner:
So far 95% of stuff about me and my activities was in the range of funny to outright comical in regards to how happily these things ran astray along easily predictable roads.
When I left Furbase, it was admittedly for such things.
But there the problem was that it was for over two years nearly impossible to ask the location of a meeting, comment on a picture, or provide advice in jewelry making without loads of such people showing up and swamping the thread. The moderators instead of simply shunting the thread - as a minimum solution - rather giving non-problem-solving advice, seemingly being themselves overtaxed trying to unravel the by-then convoluted threads.

Here however it's something off-site, and in particular in one of those germ-incubator websites which so far didn't do anything to improve humanity.

Anyway, despite me never having commissioned you - simply lacking the funds and / or preferring your designs for projects I am not yet working on - know that I admire and like most of your art and your painting style.

I've had people tell me that my art is crap and it turned out that they were trolls. Only one person that was a watcher said that lost interest in me.

I've noticed a trend in the number of comments and faves on my pics in the last few years. I used to get a lot but now I hardly get any. I started to think that I just suck and that no one cares anymore. Still, I keep on going. I, too, even thought about not bothering posting anymore.

The biggest danger I face is fatigue from work. It's my job that's actually killing my art quality and will to do art.

I wouldn't give up just yet. We all hit that crater in the road only to resurge again.

You know... this is a problem that I have dealt with, but in a different perspective than direct harmful criticisms. You see, I have a bit of a 'Perfectionist' complex, where each time I draw, even for the first time, I keep telling myself that the creative result I produced "is not good enough", and I end up tossing it into the trash, or stashing it away into obscurity only to be found again years later and then thrown into my fire pit. This is a problem that has kept me from drawing AT ALL for a LONG time now. Thanks to the support of friends, I am doing better in managing this problem, but still got the problem. I keep looking at the art of other artists, and easily feel intimidated. I just do. Because their art is SO much better than mine. And... I yearn to produce art just like those artists. :/

My good friend, however, told me something that really resonated with me. He first asked me as to WHY artists draw in the first place. Its definitely NOT to make money or to gain popularity in places like Furaffinity, Weasyl, sofurry, etc etc. He explained to me that artists draw 'for themselves'. As in, they just draw and churn out art (this goes for stories too) for themselves because that is what brings them happiness. They draw for themselves because it makes them happy, content, all because they are seeing the physical projection of their imagination. Sure, artists can indeed reach out and take on commissions and stuff to expand their horizons (and some income too), but those are just side effects of all this art stuff. As long as you are happy with what your imagination is churning out, and happy with YOUR own work in how you illustrate your imagination, then what all others tell you should mean very little, or zero.

In my opinion, as to what others have said, is that these people are just mere trolls, trying their best to throw monkey wrenches into the fandom. Don't extend any form of success over to them. Besides, I purchased art from you because, well, I like your art. So, what those trolls have been telling you is pretty inaccurate, or a flat out lie, to try and derail you.

Please don't quit, the trolls are just scum and best ignored. Most of them cannot do art to save their lives and prefer to attack others rather than improve.

I know we spoke already, but I agree with all these other fine folk. Taking time to gather yourself and come back stronger later is more than fine. The important thing we all want you to know is that we know you better than that. Those of us who have known you closely and/or for a long time certainly know the real, good you. We know the Alicia that isn't being portrayed by a sociopath, or troll, or lunatic. We know you are indeed a good person, and we know your good at what you do.
