Well, to kick off my new web hosting, I have an announcement.
As you may already know, I've been waiting for my VR headset for Android to come in...well, it came in last Sunday and I started coding on it in between work. The VR headset scripting only took me about 20 minutes to get right and I very quickly discovered mirrors DO NOT WORK ON ANDROID. This means that you will never see the main character while playing the game.
I also decided that I will make a platforming game. Yes I know I announced a shooter, but more of my family would be okay with a platformer over a shooter and family and close friends are a majority of my audience. Also the platforming game I want to make, well...I can do it for me. As excited as I am to show off my first VR game, to keep the rush going, I have to be doing it for me and not for anyone else. If I'm doing it for other people, as soon as they stop being interested, I don't have the drive to keep going. If I do it for me, like I did with Mystic Planet, I can keep going as long as I need to, such as, say, a year and a half (which is about as long as it took me to finish Mystic Planet).
Now while I hope to have a prototype done by Furry Weekend Atlanta so I can show it off to the convention, I won't be working on the actual game until AFTER I finish my current commitments: Agent Lazer and Becky's game. These will both be partially focused on new territories. Becky's game will use multiplayer options (turn-based), and Agent Lazer will have a leaderboard and ad revenue (you can relax-- it's just to earn things you can earn in game anyway. I'm not forcing them on anyone). Half of Agent Lazer's ad revenue will be given to the person who agreed to let me use his character, and the other half will be going to me.
The only other thing I can think to add is this: when I make the platforming game, I will NOT be waiting until I'm done to release to android. It's also going to be an android exclusive since I can't afford an oculus for PC and the two systems work very differently. I will release it in segments as they come around.
That's all for now. Peace out.
