What you should do is what I did when I saw someone on there posting my mate's (Bayson's) art: Click the button on every image page to report it, and provide the links to your postings of the artwork in the form that comes up. The YS staff is pretty good about deleting that sort of stuff. You might even be able to get the guy banned since he's stolen so much.

Oh, just a warning: It may take a day or two for them to get around to it. They're kinda slow, but they do get around to it eventually.

Get as pissed off as possible, complain to the site, tell then to permanently, delete your stuff, you have all rights to those drawings

Contact the administrator of the site if possible. If you can't then there's nothing much you can do besides make your own account and spread it around to harass the guy to put it down unless he complies politely.

Generally when i'm stolen from i contact the actual thief first, and explain to him that yeah, he's been caught, and he needs to remove that stolen shit.

Eventually you either

A) Come to an understanding and the art is taken down

or

B) Discover that said person is a colossal tool.


If your answer is B you then ...

A) Go to the Administrator of the site , and contact him / her and have the art removed. Typically you'll need to show evidence of the theft, so make sure to have the art on hand.

B) Send your fans after the artist to make his life a living hell (Provided they don't do it on their own. Mine always automatically lynch thieves and tell me later. Kind of awkward, but it happens)

From the guy's comments on the uploads, he's trying to pass em off as his own work, and is a bit of an ass about it.

First-- submit a ticket about the problem using the "Report Problem" link at the bottom of the page. (at the way bottom, next to 'privacy policy')

Second-- attempt to contact a moderator or administrator directly. Email may work, but pretty sure they've got IRC chat, maybe a live journal.. hell maybe even instant messengers. :>

Third-- Privately or publicly confront the guy.. though I would put this off to a last measure, as I really doubt that the admins wouldnt be able to deal with the guy once they get to the support ticket... and he may just brush you off or be an ass further (just a link to your FA gallery and site would suffice as solid evidence you're you, and he's not you : P )

Sometimes it good to talk to the person first as they are just doing to get attention of said artist that they stole from and will take it down when you ask them nicely to do it, but from the sound of this person. They sound like a complet ass, so taking it to the admins of that site will be good.

AMazing... Simply amazing. MuscleWolf and I talked a lot about this last night after he talked to you. I wish you would have told him when you two were IMming. I have some thoughts on the issue. All my works are metadata protected with a watermark. Yes, I know people could defeat it, but they have to know it first. There are some evry good watermark programs out there that are inexpensive and they don't necessarily display the watermark across the actual picture. If you are interested, there's also Digimark (Digimarc?) watermark company, but it's not cheap.

Since I use Macintosh, I investigated this pretty thoroughly, and I got two different ones that I use, and there's no yearly fee.

I've never had to deal with this myself, but I always figured, before reporting the offender, I'd let them have the chance to either take it down, or make it BLATANTLY CLEAR that they weren't the artist, and that I was. Free publicity FTW.

i cant even look at them, so i guess it's getting handled. DESTROY THE THIEF!

A couple of things you can do about this..

1.) Talk to the website about this, and ask the administrators to take the picture down. This is probably not all that likely, as I have seen people battle this to no end with little results. The upside is I found you via e621 and came here.

2.) SIGN EVERYTHING with your full name and © mark on it. Name and date is important to show everyone that you are the artist. Also, maybe put in your web-address in somewhere.. or email address so people can contact you if needed.

3.) If you can, put a watermark in on your art. You can do that in PhotoShop easily enough. Just make a new layer with a text box over the entire image. type in your copyright info with maybe your web address too, then set to maybe 20% transparency... Simple and easy.
