Weird Question, how much does it cost to live in Cali?
Hey everyone weird question time
Im thinking about moving to California (LA to be specific) after I graduate in may to go to a different school. I was hopping to ask you all for your collective wisdom and on advice on how I could potentially do that. I know its bloody expensive just its where all the jobs are in my chosen field so I'm looking into it.
thinks like the amount of a months food/rent would be important would be useful to know. what research I've done seems I might be able to find a shared room for 600 dollars a month. im aiming for 200 dollars a month for food

look to have about 1000+ a month for living there

and the 600 a month would be with a shared room example i was given so its a bit off from a solo apartment
has a pool, tennis court, basketball court, onsite laundry and roaches. Lets not forget the roaches.
Aside from that it wasn't...bad-ish
It also had an underground garage, but it was such a pain in the ass to bring your stuff to your apt.
There's pros and cons to the place. But....yanno...not the Worst place to be.
thx for your input kitty!!! but sadly it would be an over and hour away from the school im trying to go to ><
will keep in mind if I plan to just live there!!!
So yeah. If your car is fine, you can afford the gas, and travel time, you can live in LA on $800 a month, but you might want to look into how much reserve you have, if, say, your car breaks down.
from the sound of it you live there, do you enjoy it?
As for the no car thing... It's going to be REALLY hard to live in LA without a car. Befriend someone with a car quickly. You could look up bus routes now, to see if it will take you to the grocery store, and stuff.

Cal is a wonderful state to live in for so many, many reasons if you can just afford it.
