Free YCHs. Thoughts?

I'd like to a) meet new people, b) get more watchers, and c) diversify the characters I draw. Do free YCH's fit the bill? Would anyone throw their characters into the ring? Would people spread the word? Halp.
Giveaways don't always result in the most loyal followers though, so y'know, just keep that in mind. ^^'
I think it was okay to post journals if you where okay with it-- idk how to explain it but like i think people can post boosting journals! what its not supposed to be allowed is asking people to promote them :0000
