A quick State of the Ott first.
So, We went to Walt Disney World at the end of January.
It was awesome, We met SO many people there, literally I has arranged to meet people EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Locals and people who happened to be vacationing when we were.
I hope I dont leave anyone out but- Wildmark- thanks for the fast passes and being out guide all week.
Tigeris and Goliath- I love seeing you guys as often as I can. Yay, daddy and wuff/otter time!
Ozzy and friend- I am SO SO Sorry I don't remember your name- We didn't see ya long but was nice to hang out
Haku- I hope we get to meet up again at FWA. You are awesome.
Noxy and Boon- Love you guys, Sorry we don't talk as often as we should.
Digo, Melly, and kiddo- Always awesome to see you guys again. Sorry it was short.
Javi, Cadpig, and Autumn- Awesome hanging out. Sorry it was so rainy :(
So yeah, we met up with a LOT of people. And both Paul and I got pretty sick. I got bronchitis/pneumonia, and I am STILL trying to shake the cough. Annoying.
Ok, now to the Deadpool review.
AWESOME.
Ok, a little more than that.
As it goes, it wasn't like earth shattering or like a movie for the ages or anything.
It was the most gory movie I have ever seen (Take that with a grain of salt as I don't go around looking for gory movies, but this one was like seriously gory).
It was also one of the funniest movies that I have ever seen. There are so many 4th wall breaks, and even a 4th wall break INSIDE a 4th wall break. There are pop culture references and a lot of self-humor.
With the excessive violence and language, it is NOT for kids.
I am not sure that people who are not fans of comics would really get all the humor. You don't really have to know anything about Deadpool, or comics in general before you watch the movie, but it will REALLY help. It will help you get a lot of really fast moving references and TONS of in jokes. TONS.
I think they do a good job weaving the movie together, and it is not just action from start to end like some super hero movies. There is a lot of character development, but that's OK, it's done at a fast pace, so it never ever gets slow or boring. You are always excited to see what comes next
People who are fans of the comics will see character names they recognize, even if some, like Weasel and Blind Al are slightly different from the comics, they all have their place and are not shoehorned in, they all have an integral part to the plot.
They did have Colossus and another X-Men character in there, but again they had a fairly minimal part and did move the plot along, and there were some funny parts with them, I wasn't sure if they would fit in, but they did a good job, they weren't in there too long. And Deadpool got some good X-Men jabs in there.
If I had a complaint, it was one I was worried about. There have been a lot of very good parts of the movie that they have put in the previews, so they are less of a laugh cause I know what is coming. But that is a pretty light complaint. If that's the worst part of it, that is pretty good.
Well that, and as someone else complained about, all the previews before the movie were shit, but that isn't the movie's fault. Not sure who to blame on that.
The soundtrack is AWESOME. There are some great songs from the 80's and 90's in there. It sounds weird. but if you watch it, they actually make a lot of sense. Even from the very opening credits, which were a fucking laugh riot.
BEST. OPENING. CREDITS.
EVER.
Oh yeah, and the closing credits are funny, and STAY FOR THE END. The every end, there is a little outro bonus. I hope everyone gets the reference. It is fucking hilarious.
So yes, as long as you are over 18, (which I hope everyone who is watching me is), GO SEE THIS MOVIE.
IT'S FUCKING GREAT!
I'm going to go hug a unicorn. (Watch the movie and you will understand......)

I went and saw it myself tonight, and was laughing my butt off at the opening credit sequence and several other scenes in the movie as well.
Very good review, and don't really have much more I can add, other than I like that it's a small-scale, more personal story without much actually at stake.
Silly Burr.
Glad to hear Disney went well, though feel better soon.
