SHMASHING
Ok guys here after what feels like an eternity with some updates!
So far ALL commissions have been sketched up!
Unfortunately there's been a lot going on outside of the Internet that's required my immediate attention. Nothing bad! Just things like family obligations, this city-wide issue that affected just about everyone, prepping for travel, being sickish, my Valentine getting sick and going to the vet for the first time (but these shots are doing wonders for her and she's really perked up so I'm hoping this means she's beat this little respiratory hiccup), planning Valentine's Day for my boyfriend Evan, and this HUGE thing that's been in the works. Evan is supporting my decision to get serious about my future. We already know that we are in this thing together for the long haul (or in more sappy terms, 'forever awwww'), but being together is about more than just the love aspect.
I want to be able to pull my own weight and provide as much as he does for us financially CONSISTENTLY, so it's felt like a year of researching and meeting with people and planning and career ideas, etc. Even though it hasn't even been two weeks.
I do have one AMAZING opportunity offered to me, it's not in stone yet, but I'm so happy to be considered and if I can get in with that it will cause me to be a whole hell of a lot more focused and driven I think.
Wordswordswords,
Long story short, I've been waiting on some calls so that we can set this up and hopefully go for it.
Now that I know that Monday is probably the official day, I can relax and take a breath.
BUT THAT MEANS THAT I WANNA GET THIS ART BUSINESS GOING! So here's some bulletins for today/my near-future gameplan:ღ Like I mentioned earlier, all commissions have been sketched up.
ღ I have a few new offers/accepted comms that need to be responded to, put down in the notebook, and listed on the queue, but that will be done once I get back home from picking up some art supplies.
ღ Today I'll be focusing on posting those Valentine YCH's that were bought, as well as one of the comms in the queue that is a Valentine's gift. Of course I'll be working to get as much done as possible, but those are at the top of the list because obviously tomorrow is Valentine's day!
ღ I'll be taking Valentine's Day OFF so that I can spend it with my boyfriend! Evan and I don't have any strict V-day plans because we're chill af, but we'll probably go play some sports, have a picnic, maybe see DeadPool, and then watch the Walking Dead premier with my family. They normally aren't receptive to any of my past boyfriends (all like, two of 'em) but they love the hell out of Evan, it's so adorable.
ღ Since I may get the call Monday, work may be slow. But if I get the call, and we make some progress, I may have a schedule mapped out and be able to throw everything I've got into working on art inbetween those set meetings.
ღ Unfortunately due to making sure I had Evan's Valentine's stuff all drawn up, and everything else that's sucked up my time outside of art, I wasn't able to put out any more Valentine's YCH's. HOWEVER, I do have a solid plan for some St. Patrick's Day YCHs. They won't be mini's like the original sets, but rather thigh-up regular style ones. I'd say more, but I want it to be a surprise.
ღ SO for anyone interested, soon I'll be posting: St. Patrick's Day YCH's, Opening Chibi Commissions (All other commissions are still open but these will be made open as well soon), and traditional badge pre-orders!
OK GUYS, thanks so much for reading as for being awesome as always!

But OMG I'm so excited for you and honestly cannot wait to see what the future holds for you. Seriously it's got to/going to be great.
ALSO SIDE NOTE, my friends and I might head up to Savannah for Spring Break/ St. Patrick's day! I'm pushing for that trip more than any other destination.
But as you guys figured, Valentine is actually one of our pet's names. I was begging Evan to let me get her (we already had some other pets but I had fallen in love with her) and after hours of debating whether or not we could take on the responsibility of another baby, I tempted him by saying that if we got her he could name her. It was last February, so he named her 'Valentine' u w u
But we usually call her pet names like 'angelmouse', 'babypeeps', 'little scoops', etc- or if she's being sassy we just call her a toot.
Be SUPER careful if you are there for St. Pattys! Even though I'm like, Savannah's biggest fan, I would really discourage traveling for St. Pats. The celebration is MASSIVE (second largest in the US), and the city is just gloriously beautiful, but it's so dangerous on the other hand. The population in the city booms by about 100,000- it's full of really rowdy drunk people and others looking to mug/rob (or worse) those unsuspecting people. Downtown is gorgeous, but there are parts you want to stay far away from (but that's just like anywhere). Essentially the more tourist-traveled and developed sections of downtown are 'standing room only' for St. Patrick's day week. (River Street, Broughton Street, Forsyth Park, and even the 21 squares between the river and Forsyth are JAMMED). And a sad aspect is that with it being so full of tourists all at once, you likely won't get to see the city in it's full beauty and tranquility. The city is a year-round tourist hot spot, but that is it's busiest week of the whole year.
I definitely think it's worth going at least once in your lifetime, but you're also going to be paying an outrageous amount for your lodging, food, etc. All prices shoot through the roof (Some hotels that would have offered standard rates of say $180 a night skyrocket to $500+) So it's really better to see if you can stay with someone you know there and skip those insane fees. And another thing to worry about is booking the hotel- you don't want to end up in a nasty, unsafe part of town- and the hotels start getting filled for that week about six months or more in advance.
I know this all sounds lame and discouraging, and it breaks my heart to have any hesitations for someone about a Savannah trip, but I really don't want you to run into all these obstacles all of a sudden and feel like crap. This way maybe you can research in more detail if you haven't already and decide if another time of year would be better for you. Like for me, I go to Savannah monthly (and we are making steps towards living there, just trying to be smart and financially sound before we do that), and I never go for St. Pats. I always either go in the very beginning of March, and in April. I want to see the festivities one day, but one day in the future when I won't have to pay those hotel fees, be staying way out near the airport or in some really bad area, etc etc >w<
But make the decision for yourself and based on your opinions, not mine. And if you have any questions at all you can ask me anytime! I own like thirty books on the city and would love to be a certified historic tour guide one day once I live there. Savannah is simply one of my biggest passions <3
I'm dying to go back in general before it gets too warm outside. :)
But I can say that we're all behind you 100% for you doing what you and your dear agree to do
Sorry that you've hit a rough patch this month; I'm personally fighting what seems to be either allergy season or an actual Flu bug, guess we'll see how long it takes my immune system to adapt (wow, that immunization shot two months back TOOOOOOTALLY worked), hopefully soon.
And you definitely take Valentine's Day off! I hate seeing people work on holidays.
Hope this opportunity works out for ya!
Have a great Valentines day!
Have a great Valentines with your babu! :3
Also, I'm not sure what kind of offer you're expecting, but if you don't get that call Monday don't be discouraged...depending on what it's from the place may be closed for President's Day. :P
