this might sound like hipster garbage, but, i think its the mainstreamness of it nowadays? furry use to be kinda unified in small pockets online, (where eventually, you'd find FA, and settle in) but now, you have furrys "born and bred" so to speak, on facebook, Tumblr, etc, the community is more scattered and varied, and has people entering into it, who are just there fishing for attention.

people latch on to stupid trends, worship some content creators like idols who's word is law, and people have this disjointed opinion that "furry A is like this, thus, furry B must be like this"

nowadays, it's nothing but fads and trends that people latch onto and obsess about until they bleed it dry and move onto the next one,

maybe... it might just be im getting a little older, a little more successful in being an adult, and I just don't see the value, nor have the time for prancing around with cartoon animal identities.

The art is spectacular, that's about the tops of what is keeping me engaged with the fandom.
