Holy smokes I'm buying a house

General
A house, people
A house
It has a shitload of trees and a big open yard I'm going to shoot arrows around and build snow forts in the winter. Because nobody will tell me I can't. I can string out a hammock and watch the aurora and stargaze at night cuz I'm far enough from Edmonton's light pollution.
I'm also going to build mews for mah falcons to chill in. Still figuring out how not to scare all the cute little birds away from the feeders because, yannow, falcons hunt other burds.
Don't ask me how I ended up out here out in the sticks of Alberta. But I got great friends around. They're just, yannow, all a 20 minute drive in any direction. But there's a post office in walking distance and that's good enough for me. The town general store even has a restaurant. The library is pretty ballin'. We're moving up in the world.
Sadly because of all the house things going on, and also real important work stuff, crafting progress on my resin falcon head and wings v3 is delayed until the next big con after VF.
Which is ANTHROCON.
That's right. Got a room at the WESTIN and it seems I'm going to be outnumbered by lovely angel dragon ladies in there. I can deal with this. Looking forward to meeting new friends and awesome artists and catching up with old ones there!

And thanks I will enjoy this snow greatly thank you very much :p Maybe next winter I'll build a quinzee! This winter is... practically over already. Lol.
Its worth it!
And I'll watch for you at FE and AC2016 too.
Ahhh sadly no FE for me this year! But while you guys are rocking it out in Toronto I'll be winging my way to down under for some adventures instead :> But you'll see me at AC for sure!
Oh well, the upside for me is that I have to deal less with mosquitoes and black flies in the warmer weather. :D
The only other range I know around here is about a 30-45 minute drive from home. Again, not really worth the drive :(
Maybe one day you'll be able to move to a wooded acreage outside the city and hunt and run wild under the light of the full moon ;)
And yeah the lack of insects is one of the reasons why I love fall and winter so much!
But yes, I hope to someday either move to a wooded lot - or maybe just get a cottage with one. That would work too! *sighs dreamily* I like the way you think :)
Dreams are made to be realized, I wish you all the best in getting there! You don't have to go at it alone either, I bet you can round up a few friends towards the goal of having a private furry nature reserve, haha. In the meantime, there's camp feral!
I used to dream of living in the woods too, then a friend bought a couple quarter sections of boreal forest chock full of wildlife close to a provincial park, and we built a cabin there with a wood stove and sleeping loft and everything, so mission accomplished by proxy! It's 2.5 hours away though so I can't visit as often as I want XD but that's life! I do enjoy my creature comforts of running hot water and so on quite a bit anyway :>
Seems there's a lot of good firsts hitting your life all at onc..be sure not to bog yourself down in overexcitement..I heard that can be dangerous and what not.
*Hands you a shovel* Totally feel free to move him anytime. XD
Aw, houses are good. They're terrifying in many ways, but the fact that you can do what you want when you want really spoils you.
I'm going to plant a million trees in my postage stamp lot. It will be like the Totoro tree in my backyard.
