So... a little bit ago my tablet gave up the ghost. Well it's pen did. Unfortunately they do not MAKE replacements for said pen as they do not even make my tablet anymore... I have decided after due consideration that I am getting a new one... my question is... What kind?

Well, that depends on your needs. I have a Wacom Intuos because I needed a large size tablet and more fine control than the ancient Graphire I had. I also needed something more sensitive. There's also the matter of price. How much tablet can you afford?

Not more than 50$, I loved my little 4' by 3'. It was portable and very nice... I'd be getting another one just like it but they don't make them anymore. I'm kind of eyeing Huion or XP Pen >.>

50 will buy more quality now than it would a few years ago. You could look for a decent used one (buyer beware) or a low end new one.

I just don't know ANYTHING really about tablets... and I'm afraid of getting the wrong one and wasting money...

I see. Well, the biggest thing is to do your homework. They come in different sizes and sensitivities to fit with what the user expects to need. A high end, professional tablet is not required to create fantastic art, but a bit of junk will slow you down. I use Wacom tablets mostly since the pen is not wired to the tablet and doesn't need batteries. The catch is that they're expensive even on the low end. Looking at 70 for some of their cheapies. I don't have any good experience with other brands. If you can find a place that sells computer hardware, you might want to ask if they have any tablets (art, not microcomputers) to experiment with.

I think I might go with a low end Wacom... it might cost me a little more but I got a little extra from the evil place
