It comes from the untold second part of the Danish legend of William Tell. Upon showing off his bow-shooting skills and stating, "if he had struck his son with the first arrow, he would have shot King Harald with the remaining two arrows," King Harald Bluetooth was infuriated with William tell's audacity, and in a fit of anger ordered his troops to "fire at Will."
