You're designs are gorgeous, and if I had an idea of how paypal worked and I had any money, I would at least have bought two of them <xD.... </3

Maybe you're right, prob is bad luck.. but then i see designs elsewhere that sell for huge amounts.. i just wonder how .-.

I had the exact same feeling when i posted my fave adopt (swirl deer) well, i love them all. But it only got one bid, and someone else bidded for it because they had no money, so i see nothing of him.

Chin up! I finally got back into designing and my auction went higher that i could ever believe. I posted it on the FB page, made Journals etc. Maybe have it running and end it 5 days after the last bid or something. :(

I do think about maybe doing shorted auctions like that, but then (i know it sounds selfish) but i feel it'll go for even less money than hoped as it doesnt have enough time to get out there.. idk i also like to try advertising everywhere i can but then i really hate it when other people spam the crap out of your inbox for reminders so i didnt want to be one of those guys :'D

its honestly most times an issues of lack of exposure. the more watchers you have the more people see it the greater the success of the sale.. also the more watchers you have the more you can charge so its really in large part a watcher driven business

Hmm yeah.. i can see your point, its definately true. Though it is kinda annoying when you do have the right audience (like the D.A.D community for example) and have alot of them watching you, so you offer D.A.D's for them to adopt.. but still not even a comment or fav for aknowledgement... kinda feels your doing something wrong

That's actually one of the reasons I left, and so far every friend of mine felt the same. There are.. people who get featured all the time, and then there's us; I was happy I could get even a start bid. It's really sort of unfair, so many designs just collect dust somewhere while others buy featured designs worth hundreds, no matter if they are creative or pretty.

I totally get you :/ i mean im definately guilty for paying out alot of money for an adopt, hands in the air, but then it feels unfair when you put your heart into a design and are even to the point of keeping it yourself, but when money is needed, you give them up for adoption and then.. nothing. You get all stoked up and excited to see this amazing creation you have created.. only to get not so much as a favourite, let alone a bid... it definately is disheartening :'(

It is. Even though I have so many ideas for Dutch Angel Dragon designs, I already know there will be no interest if it's not featured by more popular people. Sure, I had luck with some, but when you work your butt off and stay awake just to finish it until 4 or 5 am, and it gets low or no bids, it just makes me angry. I already underpriced my DADs by a lot, see, my refs are 25 for an EXISTING character with front and back view, my design started at 15 or something.
And it makes me even angrier to see more popular artists that don't even have creative ideas anymore get ten times more, even if designs are heavily referenced/copied or pretty much are the same adopt with different colors. I just don't know what people want anymore. They want creative, they want pretty, but if you actually design one, it's left to rot somewhere because everyone just cares about those popular artists.
I don't even care anymore if someone gets offended by that, but it's just what I think.

The only reason I don't buy designs from people is that I have no money to do so.
And the few that I came across while I had money and I really liked were auctions and very quickly flew way outside of my range :/
