Does 'medic' mean you're in training or is it a position? In the UK, where I live, the term usually means ambulance crew or a soldier/sailor/airman trained in medical skills.

Medic means you studied medicine, Doctor means you've made a Doctorate (PhD), which can be in biochemistry, physics, or some bullshit subject like sociology/philosophy/anthropology.

In the UK, when you do a degree in medicine you get the title of Doctor, and a degree in nursing to be a Nurse. PhDs don't usually get called Dr. in everyday life, but do professionally.

If you think PhDs in Soc/Phil/Anthro are BS, you should see the PhDs in fine art or illustration.

I didn't know there were such oligophrenic HORSESHITE BOLLOCKS to have a PhD in.
Also, Chemists/Scientists/etc. who have PhDs and aren't called Doctors usually get really fucking pissed.
