Ah, the joy of sending out twenty resumés and being lucky to hear a peep back from one of them! Still, there are jobs out there - whilst there's no shortage of layoffs and cutbacks, there are also places (sometimes even the same companies!) hiring.

Maybe see if you can come up with a book of some kind? Maybe there's an idea you've been meaning to bring into reality for a while.. with print-on-demand from the likes of Lulu, and global electronic distribution like the App Store (particularly if the concept lent itself to taking advantage of the flexibility of non-physical media, and the option of audio, rather than being just a PDF), there might even be means of making at least pocket money, and potentially an actual income, independently.
