i'm SCARED
okay, guys.
i don't usually talk about politics. i don't do politics. i don't know much about politics. and i probably won't reply to anything on this journal for the sake of not starting arguments (please don't start arguments. i'll delete this quick if it causes issues).
but i'm SCARED. the current US presidential election actually has me worried. very worried. i'm scared for this country. i'm scared what will happen. i'm actually considering looking up what the hell is involved in moving to the UK, because damn, this could be written as a horror movie
if people are actually voting this way, i'm scared for the current level of common sense and education here. and if certain people are elected, and i'm scared of what will happen in the future (checks-and-balances or no checks-and-balances x.x)
i just....
go vote, if you still can. vote for bernie, vote for someone who ISN'T trump. trump is terrifying. it's terrifying that he's made it this far. like, this isn't a joke anymore. i thought it was a joke.
i've put off registering to vote cuz i think it's better to not vote at all than to vote blindly and uninformed. but now i feel too informed and i'm registering and i'm voting.
seriously. if you don't vote, you can't make a difference. if you don't vote, you're just talk and you're support doesn't mean anything. if you don't vote, you leave it up to everyone else, and you shouldn't trust them.
please, go vote.

Hey, how 'bout that Vermin Supreme? Ponies for everyone!
You might consider Australia or New Zealand, that's where the cool fiscally conservative, socially libertarian Canadians are heading.
I signed up to vote by mail. Much more relaxing than having to go anywhere to vote, and I can take my time with it.
and really, this is what's happening right now http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results LOTS people are voting for trump. i don't know how it's happening, but it is. a friend and i are currently discussing how no one we know supports trump and the internet and tv are spammed with how awful he is and we have no idea who the hell is actually voting for him. it's crazy, but it's happening. and he DOES stand a real chance of winning.
And then there is this and this basically does all the work for you: https://www.isidewith.com/political-quiz
I guess we're all just gonna stick through. Maybe something equally crazy will happen in the end and the eventual president will do a good job? Not that the president is much more than a figurehead now anyway
Anyway, I'll just be over here feelin' the Bern, lol.
And Mr. Shit-for-brains seems to be grabbing the most wins ... for now. But I don't think he'll be the "president."
Have you seen the kind of people who support Trump? And who Trump is, himself? You can literally paint Hitler's face on Trump and it would be pretty accurate. He's a narcissistic, racist, self centered, shitty businessman, and there's nothing more dangerous than an idiot with power. I'm not usually this politically sensitive myself, but I realize that this election is actually VERY important to this generation, especially for our future families. It will affect us very dramatically in the coming years and could be the determining factor of how the US progresses in the coming years. We are already in a state of chaos, and Trump would only further that. Even if Trump doesn't win, Cruz and Rubio aren't quite as bad, but they are still both VERY evil in different ways.
It is really bad that many people are being so apathetic to voting. It is so, so important. Because seriously, ONE vote could decide who wins. One. And people who use the excuse "I don't want to do jury duty", isn't valid, because they don't just pull from the voter registration list. They also pull from state ID and driver license list. And as I said before, the candidates this year are all really, really poor choices aside from Sanders. Even if he can't do 100% of what he proposes, I still believe he can make a difference, especially with health care and livable minimum wage concerns...
We will see how the next months go. But I, myself, am discomforted in the fact that Trump is actually showing a possibility to become our next President...
We can hope. I really hope people see what is at stake...
I'm just curious to know just how much American balls he had to suck in order to get to where he is now. Just think of the masses. :O
I honestly don't care who becomes our next president, just as long as it isn't Trump, and trust me, if I were allowed to vote in a presidential election, I would. Puerto Rico and other US territories can't vote in presidential elections.
Just my 2 cents.
...Please.
I think the tail has begun to wag the dog in US politics. When a Republican candidate gets called a racists for wanting to re-implement a Democrat President's policies, the useful debate is over.
Get a Commonwealth passport Nix. Meet ya in Auckland.
Cruz, Rubio, and Hillary all are STILL pretty bad choices, too. Trump is probably 100% by far THE WORST, but those guys don't have propositions for very progressive or good things either. I REALLY am glad Bernie is holding up okay after yesterday, as Super Tuesday could have been the death of Bernie's movement. If Bernie doesn't win, I will prefer Hillary over all else, even though she is just as bought as everyone else.
For real though, this election is by FAR, probably one of THE most important ones. I really urge everyone to (try) and get their friends to get politically active, at least for this election, because this can REALLY change the way things move in coming years. I think people can see if Bernie isn't elected, we're [likely] going to be stuck working 3 jobs to make ends meet, or live in crowded houses, or worse. Even Hillary wouldn't change much in a good way, because half the things she's for now, she wasn't for some years ago, such as gay marriage...and she will keep flip-flopping to the demand of Goldman Sachs and whoever else has her bought out.
And yes, you should be scared. We all should...the fact that Trump is becoming an actual, feasible threat is TOTALLY terrifying. The only way to beat him is to get people to participate, as they should, because the system doesn't work without people inputting. I really hope people understand how incredibly important this election is. We really need every person's vote. One vote could be the deciding factor between having a better future vs. a repeat of nazi germany, or whatever may come of this...
