On the contrary! The quality of your work makes it worth the wait. I may be further down the list this round but it's my fault for taking so long to message you. I would never hurry you up.

If you want to give people a slightly better chance at receiving their completed commissions sooner, maybe you could give an advance notice (one week?) of when you will become available. This way you've given ample time for folks to not only set aside their cash but also write and prepare their commission request so they can send it at a moment's notice.

I'm also throwing this out there but you could also make yourself available more frequently throughout the year by accepting just a couple of commissions at a time. Though I get the feeling that would force you to keep track of commissioners in order for other people to get in their request or constantly gauge interest of your followers. In other words: you have to put in effort. I don't expect you to take this particular idea seriously anyway.

I actively dislike having people waiting indefinitely for a piece of art, it is perhaps because I've personally experience such a situation in the past, several years ago an artist (who shall remain nameless) offered me a trade opportunity and while I delivered my part of the trade after 2 weeks, this other artist kept me waiting and giving excuses and ended up never delivering, I hated it. That is why I adamantly update people on the work I'm doing and post on twitter and in my queue the progress I'm making so at least the people that are waiting know work is being done and things are moving along.

As a matter of fact, every time I'm contacted by people inquiring when I'll be available again for commission work I always contact them in advance so they know when to be ready, it is common courtesy for me to do this since they showed interest in my work.

I've been thinking about the possibility of reopening slots once I'm halfway done through the queue, (just a possibility) perhaps adding a few slots as commissions get completed, not resetting the count but adding further numbers to it and keep advancing it with time.

As for keeping tract of commissioners and their request, that is something I already do. I keep a detailed record of all commissioners' reference materials, instructions, orders, etc to make sure nothing gets lost and that I do the job right and nobody is left hanging. Believe me ReeneePSO, I take each and every one of my commissioners seriously because I'm grateful for the opportunity I'm given every time someone pays to claim a slot, it is the least I can do.
