I think its blown out of proportion, some furs just want an excuse to draw rule 34 art of disney characters again. I had to set my filter to general to not see any of it because my inbox was flooded. I think movie wont be a new "gateway" drug into the fur fandom. The movie doest reference the fandom in anyway, shape or form. Sooner or later furs would go to the next fad like what happen to five nights at freddy's or undertale.

No matter if this movie turns out to be a gateway for those who love animation, music, storytelling, or finding the fandom I hope that the movie and the lessons that it teaches us all will impact all who choose to see it in a positive light.

I'm one of those crazy guys that stays to the very end of the movie. I don't know, I thought since Marvel merged with Disney Zootopia may throw a teaser for a part 2 . When looking through the credit I'm simply floored by how each department even the art department and rendering pipline crew is only about a dozen people per department. Which is simply amazing! Compare it to other movies where the art direction is 60+ in just one department.

My impressions without spoilers.

There's no excuse for a director/writer to shoe-horn in the singers lead song and not even have it apart of the story. That was lazy even for Disney!

I would like a little more explanation towards the historical aspects of the city other then "They talked it out." I understand it's a kids movie and I'm not expecting "Dune" levels of story building foundation. But it bothered me that they glazed over something very important considering they were going to beat me over the head with political correctness afterwards.

Overall, it's good to see Disney 'doing things' again. As for reaching out to the fandom it's a win-win in their behalf. They already got the kids so why not appease to adults which will buy their merchandise? they realized how much sick cash they made with the Lion King, and if some rule 34 is made that's simply collateral damage that was going to happen anyways regardless of fandom.
