Ban all guns? Sue gun manufacturers? Uh...no.

reeeee
Someone wants to kill large numbers of people and guns aren't available?
It's not too difficult to understand The Anarchist's Cookbook.
Just saying.
I could build an explosive with materials I could obtain by going to the grocery store for about $150, a bomb that would fuck up far more people than an assault rifle would, and would do a lot more collateral damage, too. I'm not saying something on the scale of Timothy McVeigh, but I AM talking about something with a fair bit more BOOM than a grenade. And if I REALLY wanted to do some damage, for the average price of a shotgun, I could create a body count on the equivalent scale of a light machine-gun.
You really think taking away guns will stop people from killing people in large numbers? Oh you poor naive idealistic peeps, reality will hit you hard if it ever comes to the point where you think you've finally won...
Why does nobody ever talk about maybe addressing, I don't know, the underlying causes of this kind of thing? Why don't we ever talk about how maybe, just maybe, the reason for these massacres is because our society is fucking dysfunctional as all shit? Every problem has its source, and given how often these shootings take place, I have to assume, and rather safely I think, that it's a problem with our society. I mean, look at gun ownership in Canada. Look at the number of shootings they deal with. Not. Fucking. Many. Look at Sweden. 32 guns per 100 people. In the US, it's 113 per 100 people. But here's the thing, 3.5 people per 100,000 in the US are killed in firearm-related homicides yearly. In Sweden, it's 0.19(!!!) per 100,000.
Look at that ratio. 3.5 to 1 for ownership between the US and Sweden, but 18.5 to 1 in gun-related homicides. That's a 525% difference.
Guns are not the (only) problem.
Our fucked-up psychotic society is the problem. Sensible gun control will help mitigate it. But it's not going to be nearly enough. And banning firearms outright will actually do more harm than good, particularly in regards to the economy.
Maybe it's time we focused our efforts on the root of the weed instead of obsessing over the stem.
And you don't want to know what I could do with some aluminum, rust, charcoal, fertilizer, and sulfur.
But I'll tell you anyway.
Thermite. I could make thermite. A very large amount of it. And I could do it by going around scraping the rust off of cars and ironworkings common all over any cityscape and buying a bunch of aluminum foil. And with some sulfur powder, charcoal, potassium nitrite, and some patience and dedication, I'd have black powder within a very short amount of time.
Combine them with some scrap metal, and I could VERY easily make a fragmentation-incendiary bomb. You think guns are bad? Wait til you smell human flesh cooking...
Thankfully, I am not a sociopath. I would never do this. But if I was? I could. Easily.
Society needs to be fixed. That's the point I'm trying to make here, really. It's dysfunctional, it's neurotic, and it stigmatizes mental illnesses while being far more insane than anyone in a psyche ward is.
