When you do apply to a job, follow up with a phone call or email and express interest, that you submitted your application. If you talk on the phone or in person, a friendly tone of voice goes a long way.

Open availability may get you an interview over restricting the hours you will work.

When you do get an interview, dress to impress.

Find a job that fits your field of work, because you need experience for some jobs. Also, use indeed.com or a job-searching site. It would be good to have a resume, both printed and online so you have it if they ask.
