Y'all don't know how much I wish FA had an account linking thingy. I suck at managing multiple accounts on here because one of them always, no matter what, gets forgotten. .-.
So I set up a second instagram account for myself. You can now find me as both acatcalledbird AND furnonymous. acatcalledbird will from here on out be my personal account, where I'll also post my WIPs and whatnot, and furnonymous will house only commissions and other finished pieces.
I also got a logo somewhat designed. Heh. It's a mishmash of cliparts off of Office Word that a friend vectored for me to make it nice and round and smooth. I'll post it eventually, I'm sure.
What'm I doing right now? Well..
Still hoarding money towards getting Bird. My next payment is going to be somewhere in the ballpark of $1000..nearly 3x the amount required. I originally expected to have Bird for Halloween, but if things keep up this way I may have her as soon as June / July.
Been staying at my boyfriend's lately to give my parents some breathing room. Because of that, my ability to work on commissions is gonna be a bit rough for a while. Cutting fur leaves it everywhere and at home that wasn't an issue because of the hardwood floors, but vacuums and their loud noises stress me out and it's all carpet here. ;n;
I'm also slowly but surely gathering the things I'll need to start having my own booth at conventions. This is still at least one year down the line for me, but I hope to be able to have a booth to sell my wares at some conventions. My plan is to throughout the year make a lot of premade tails to take with me. Currently looking into acquiring a large number of binder clips and a bunch of those wire screen things that you can connect into different shapes. Still looking into methods for building, pricing, security and advertising though. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Looking at possibly getting business cards..I also really want to get a large banner made to put in front of my booth tables.
Speaking of tables, are those a thing provided for you or do you need to bring your own? I assume this varies from con to con..hm.
Personally, I've been doing alright. Work is still kicking my ass, but if I want this fursuit then I can't give up quite yet. Mom had heart surgery yesterday, everything went well and I brought her home this morning. Spent the day in bed with her, which was nice. I need to take her out one of these paychecks that I have extra money, for a mommy and me sorta day. She really deserves it. I'm glad she's finally getting the rest she needs though.
My mental stability is slowly but steadily climbing back out of the pit it had fallen into. I think part of it is I simply don't have time to feel miserable or sad, because I'm always doing something. Which is a plus, I guess.
Don't really have much else to say, I reckon. Keep your heads up, it gets better.
