Life Updates -and why art is slow-
For starters I have not forgotten about my giveaways, I have just been busy lately and haven't had the time, or when I have the time I lack the energy, to do my art requests as quickly as I originally planned. Continue reading for explanation and I am sorry for the wait ;; <3
SO bae and I just moved across town last weekend to our first place alone together. It's a lovely one bedroom right by the university. All the bills (including cable and Internet) are combined into one which is fantabulous, because juggling bills is not our favorite thing to do. The office staff are amazing and have helped us in every step that they could. They are getting a lap pool in the summer, and I am excited to start swimming for exercise again :D PLUS there are free bike rentals daily, so bae and I are going to get in shape riding around campus when the weather is nice and go to the 24hr fitness center when it's cold ^_^
Also I was recently hired at Whole Foods!! This feels like a dream come true, as I have been working my tail off to get a job there since about September. There are so many benefits and perks to working here, including $11/hr starting income, I can dye my hair whatever color I want, no drug testing, I could get any face piercing (if I so chose), and I'm sure that I'll learn more in training :'3 I start Tuesday at 9AM, and I calculated that I should be getting just under $300 my first week of training (before taxes)!!
Now, while I'm excited about that, I'm sad to be leaving all my friends at Harris Teeter. The staff and managers have all been amazing and helped me through a lot. This was the longest job I've had and I have grown fond of everyone working there (except one tbh but they were always kinda condescending to me anyways). My managers always had my back when my family would try to harass me, pulling me away and one time sending me home because my mother had sent me into a panic attack. The front end cashiers always listened to me when I would bitch about things in my life, and would share laughs and good times when it was slow. On Christmas Eve, one even came back to the store and picked me up because bae was working later than me and she shared her family's Christmas Eve dinner with me. The produce guys would give me free food on my break sometimes as well as the Asian bar. The bread people also would talk and share food with me. I never went too hungry working at a grocery store ahaha! Anyway, people in every department touched my heart, and I will never forget that. Bae and I will be making it out primary grocery store when Whole Foods is out of our budget.
Now for some unhappy news. Our small cat, Lindsay, is almost a year old. She it's starting to show signs of dominance that are negatively impacting our older cat, JC. she chases him, knocks over his food, and is all around making his life nervous and miserable. We have come to the conclusion that the best option is to rehome her, although it hurts us to do so. We have been asking our friends because we don't want to take her to a shelter or put her on Craigslist. I'll post a new journal with updates if anyone is interested.
So that's the long and short of it, I'll be getting to the art soon! Finally getting settled in this new life~
