Need some advice!

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some advice on something that I really don't know what to do about... 5 months ago I bought an adopt from an artist and that adopt (once adopted) would have another picture drawn of it's adult form for free for the new owner. So I bought him and he had some "rare" attributes that I also liked, I don't really remember how much he was I don't believe it was above $20 though. Anyways, I contacted the maker and let them know I wanted him etc. etc. got him and everything was good, she said she'd start on the adult form soon...It's been a few months and I still have yet to receive the adult form from the artist...I've brought it up twice now to which they say "they moved" or "I'm really flooded right now" "I'm not at home" and it's getting really irritating given that I can see them completing other people's work before mine which should have been done way sooner, or at least been done before someone bought the adopt.
So now I don't really know what to do, the artist has been posting journals talking about how they are really sick/are going to the doctors all the time and I don't want to hound them about getting the work done but I'm honestly getting tired of waiting...They don't even note me often to let me know whats going on, any contact from the artist is from me asking only. :I
Help would be appreciated!
**EDIT: The said artist now posted a journal saying they got a job/and school and that commissions will be taking longer...
