TFF Wrap up.

What an adventure Texas Furry Fiesta was for me.
Getting there was an exercise in smartphone map apps, a closed I-20 and dodging flood waters resulting in a 3 hour 180 mile detour through Arkansas to get around Louisiana.
Fortunately the great flood receded enough by Monday that I-20 was re-opened for the 13 hour, 934 mile drive home.
As for the con itself, I attended more panels than I had at previous cons. What a full schedule of events they had!
I was able to spend time with people I had not seen in years. I wish the time had not gone by so fast.
The con space was big and well laid out, and there was plenty of room to mingle. I had little issue with elevators, although I did hear a few horror stories.
Everything was well organized, from registration and con ops, to the dealer's den and the fursuit photo/parade.
The hotel rooms were large and comfortable, the beds, OMG, luxurious.
If the drive wasn't so long, I would definitely consider returning to TFF. Or take two days for the drive.
Hopefully next time they won't schedule it during the rainy season.

I have an elevator story...Thursday morning they weren't going up to floor 12 where I was at >.<, had to take the stairs all the way down to get breakfast, man that sucked! Fortunately I waited long enough for them to fix it and they were going to my floor again, can't imagine having to do that walk of shame in suit for the entire con!
I didn't catch what next years theme is, as I missed the closing ceremonies because I was helping out in the Dealers Den. I did hear they moved it back to the end of March, which may conflict with FWA, which is closer to home.
Most likely I will pass on TFF next year, at least until I have enough vacation time to make the drive in 2 days coming back. 13 hours behind the wheel, not including stops (add 2 hours), and the time zone difference, makes it brutal.
I am realizing that recently I am doing more conventions that charity / public events. I need to work on changing that for next year.
