Pokken Tournament

Whew. Just spent several hours feverishly playing the game first offline, then online.
Based on appearance alone (and Wyntersune's character Fate http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12100154/ ) I decided to go with Blaziken. Now, I have zero prior experience with Pokemon outside of their appearances in Smash brothers games, and I suck at Smash Bros, so.....yeah, I let appearances and Wynter's art inform my decision.
The first league offline seems like it was designed to encourage you. I trounced my way though the preliminaries, the tournament, and the graduation match without dropping a round.
Encouraged, I tested the waters of online friendly mode. I took on a rando from Japan, and lost 0-2, but felt like I was right there in both matches, then my next rando was a dude from Mexico, and I whooped the holy hell out of him.
Theeeeennn I played
eradragon for a bit. Every single match was a nail biter, I hope she capped them because she had a win that started out as an even trade, I took a lead, then she overcame it and won in the end. 5 matches with her, all very very tight and very fun.
Then I went to ranked, where past experiance with fighting games told me is where I would get the optimism beat out of me. NOT the case, I am happy to say. I lost some runaways, lost some tight ones, and won quite a few also! My win/loss hovered around 50% the whole time, sometimes slipping above, sometimes slipping below.
Overall, I find the game to be fast, intuitive, and rewarding for clear headed play. Most importantly, I find the game to be fun. Like really fun.
If you want a shot at me, leave a comment below or send me a note. My WiiU id is bflosummer :)

To be totally truthful, I'm a fan of fighting games but I'm bad at this one. The design of this one seems to have kept accessibility in mind the whole way. There are rewards for situational awareness and clear-headed play, and a lack of emphasis on command entry. No half circle full circle zig-zag toward toward down nonsense. Just.....fighting.
But that's cool that it's accessible, I'll have to give it a shot.
its Kaiden12
I'm totally getting the game before my birthday. Maybe next week, I'm not sure yet :)
Not sure if I'll pick it up or not, but if I do, I'll let you know.
I am already hearing the sounds of buttwipes rushing to declare it "not a true fighting game" for arcade cred.
