back when i entered college i was planning to learn chinnesse since there is a lot of chinese people here in tijuana, but i choosed something different at the end.
Well Spanish and French are in the same language family, so the grammar and vocabulary might be somewhat similar. I can tell you, as someone who can speak French at a basic level, that I was able to use my limited knowledge of high school Spanish to pick up on the grammar somewhat easily.
I'd say go for it, honestly, it can't hurt to try! ^^
Once i was checking the internet about the difficulty of learning french, i readed something which said something like "If you can understand this, then it will be easy for you" after i readed that i realized that it was in french.
