The Dystopian Zootopia

life is good... ain't it so?
Yes I am making a silly journal about zootopia. love it, hate it.. ignore it.
Well most of us have watched it. some more than once. and boy there is a lot of fan art made from it and I'm already bored of it. personally I did not enjoy the movie as much as I would have liked. I felt the plot wasn't fully baked. Soon I learned why. The movie was remade late in production. one year away from release they went back and remade it because zootopia was in fact very dystopian. Not the most attractive selling point for a movie mainly targeted to kids. and it still doesn't have the most interesting plot for kids. I mean "hey lets go watch that disney movie with bioweapons, prejudices, underground anarchist organizations and government cover up!" If that doesn't sell we'll slap on lots of pretty buildings and a feel good vibe. "and omg have u looked at the fucking characters they are sooo adurableee"
A friend from IB has been sending me links all week about the original ideas after I told him how I felt about the movie.
Welp turns out they had a LOT of different ideas and apparently there is an near finished or finished version of the movie with the original plot.

I'm thinking if this had been an anime they totally would have pushed that.

Like, I really liked Zootopia, but underneath the cute adorable Anthropomorphic Animals, the story just wasn't that great.
And, would you believe me if I told you this movie got fanart WAY before it was even made public to a wider audience?
I'm one of those that liked the movie, but at the same time it felt like it needed either more or something else was missing. However, what would had been better seen?A dystopian city or a more balanced society where one and another are at peace-ish?
I've yet to see any movies be more directed to an older crowd rather than just a kid's movie. Probably that's why they made so many changes since its Disney.
Any who, likes, dislikes, we all got opinions. Reason I liked it, animation. Soon to be an animator....if I can get my skills to take root that is...
Oh, and yeah. I'd agree that if this was an anime, it would had been better.
Still visually... I'd love to explore that town.
I can imagine a news report there. "Today at six. the sad and infuriating story of An elephant who tripped and squished a bus full of mice..."
I can see Disney adapting it to a TV series as they sometimes do.
Maybe it's time to commission you for some Zootopia art...
Of course, I love the movie, not so much for the story, or for Judy, but for the world they created, and rendered.
