Does the end of the bat era draw near?

Those who have known me for an extended period of time will know I'm notorious for one thing - changing species. Not in the sense of for one roleplay, but for one whole (or nearly whole) year.
This annoys people, at least until they get used to it. But little do people know that it is actually part of the character design. Yes, it's a bit stolen from Doctor Who, but whatever, every year the character starts dying a little, upon which point when it must regenerate into another species in order to remain alive.
In reality, the character only dies in the sense that I get bored of roleplaying and drawing it, and I start getting the jeebies to try out another species for another year. You may call me indecisive, I call myself tasting the buffet, the really large buffet.
Of course, with this realisation, it occurs to me that the era of the bat would soon be coming to an end - in two months in fact. The date can change a little (wolf inSeptember May '06, folf in June '07, bat in July '08) but it's generally around a year that it occurs. So, just to be OCD and fill that gap between July and September, the date of the death of the bat will occur in August.
Call me sombre, but welcome to the life of a picky buffet goer! I've had enough miniature sausage rolls! Let me at the chicken drumsticks!
Of course, now begs the question of what will I be in the future...? There are three candidates currently, which ya can read up on right now (in awesomely alphabetical order).
A dragon
Initially, when coming into the furry fandom, I didn't like dragons. I dunno why, really, they just felt cold and blah-ish to me. Of course, after becoming more attuned to folks like Hiro, Blue, et al. the species has rather warmed on me somewhat.
A rabbit
Perhaps for their somewhat similarity to bats; in the sense of large ears, funny teeth and little fluffbundle of a tail, and - in my case at least - a bit of belly out front. And of course the species comes in grey, which is helpful!
A squirrel
It sounds a bit off-the-wall (and it is) but a squirrel made it to my list purely because - prior to knowing of and joining this fuzzy fandom - that is what I wanted to be. I wanted to be a squirrel. There, I said it. Shut up!
Of course, I will follow the same process I have with all previous species changes. The character will essentially look the same, just... different. It'll still be grey in colour (why else would I be called Grey?) and have that same tuft of long, black hair, but just be an altogether different animal.
Feel free to suggest other things, just keep in mind that I'm not altogether keen on fishy things, felines or equines, dunno why, don't ask.

I have no clue why.
Bushy tail to snug. <3
Also, STOP CHANGING, DAMNIT.
Luv u.
Dragons are most amazing BY THE WAY! D<
And quit the Timelord game. That went out of fashion years ago.
Be an anthro liver.
not enough squirrels in the fat fur or inflation communities
part of the reason I chose asian dragon for mtself
It's always the western and scaley dragons who get all the love, not the eastern ones with no wings who have fur :/
I'm just a little curious about how you're going to get character consistency just right. Being grey with black hair is good, but I think there should be more to it than that - an underlying consistent character design. A colour scheme for clothing, a particular shape, something. Not too well versed on that part of character design yet...
Oooh! I know! Be a shapeshifter. x3 That way, once you got your baseline, you can be whatever species, whenever. I'm sure there is some way to make a character consistent regardless of their form. And you don't have to announce that you're changing species or names or anything ever again, cause it's part of you :3
2. I did have a consistent clothing design for the Wolf and Folf Eras, however I had to dispose of it due to the difficulties of making a bat wear a tight orange shirt :P (see here: http://www.furteantimes.com/grey/in.....ed=orangeshirt)
You need more defining features other than just colour and hair.
And of course the same general personality and behaviour. The only thing that changes is the species :P
Bunnies are nice, and I chose it because it fit my playful personality, and cuteness, however I always felt one dimensional and deemed myself a bit of a bandwagoner due to thehuge ammount of bunies ut there already.
Now, I chose Roo/coon because of several things.
Simply put I've the lower half of a roo, and the upper half of the coon, with markins all over.
Tubby Middle (I have one of those)
Muscular lower build (with thick, heavy tail = <3)
Weaker/slimmer upper build. (This reflects my utterly useless upper limbs)
And the hybrid ears give me the combination of marsupial size with canine/vulpine/feline pointiness. (I liked the bunny ears abut I also liked kitty ears)
But I also liked the big muzzle many dragons wear, so I put the roo/coon mix in.
That allowed me to have what I would consider a sort of Canid/Dragon like avatar.
Perfect.
Try and mix bits you like and make sure it fits.
Like, big, stuffed dragon tums, and how smooth and cuddleable they might be!
and hateand loveand wouldn't mind relaxing with ya having some tea =P2) Dude, go with squirrel! There aren't many (actually, how many ARE there? I just know of that Cerberus fellow (I think)), and besides, dragon is pretty well covered (and I'm guessing you're thinking of being one for more vorical oppertinities =P). I honestly don't see you as a rabbit anyways... Sorry, just can't =P
Besides, just think of all those nuts jokes you can make as a squirrel =P And trees have WAY better housing oppertunities. I think the only reason you should go dragon is you can just pry a lot of your fancy furnature off the cave ceiling and still live there, maybe turn a spare room into a gold (or whatever your horde collection would be) room.
(wish i could draw this )
