I cant switch 4 days in a row. we always have 2 days off a week so I'm pretty much SOL q,q

What if you did a Friday/Saturday switch plus a Sunday/Monday switch. It's technically 2days off for two different weeks.

The Omni is almost always open for rooms. And the rooms are top notch.

yes, I was very amazed with the Omni's luxurious rooms and general appearance. it seems like an exceptional hotel, plus the distance was close.
I knew you guys stayed there before, so I had a feeling it must have been a nice place to stay.

Iv stayed at both the double tree and the Omni and I have stayed at the double tree more often then the Omni personally. the Omni might be about a block closer but the double tree offers a free transport service and with my bad leg thats been a life saver also the staff always has free cookies and bottles of water on request and you pass by a few more places to eat at o the way to the convention center if you do walk. thats my 2 bits.

The free shuttle service sounds nice, and the free cookies do too (sorry, fat folf found his weakness).
But after researching the Double Tree, I really liked what i seen in the pics and their web site. Let me ask you this, how is the parking situation for staying at the Double Tree?

they have internal parking and im at a point monetarily that I dont care that they arnt the cheapist parking lot in the area but you always have parking space even if you take your car out there are a few cheaper places but they are a bit of a walk and they dont hold spaces for you

do you know what it costs to park there per night? -just off the top of your head. if you don't, i'll look it up

I stayed at the DoubleTree for AC in 2009, 2012, and 2015. It's actually my favorite hotel for this con although I haven't stayed at the other 2 you mentioned so I can't give a review for them to compare. In addition to what Tika said above, the DT has a nice swimming pool, and it has complimentary Wifi for your laptop / tablet / ipod. And no waiting in long lines for the elevators like at the Westin.

Wish I was going to AC this year, but made the decision not to due to finances. Maybe next year. Glad to hear you're planning to go!

The Westin was a madhouse, and i couldn't believe how busy it was last year. So, a little less packed would be nice. Free wifi and a pool would be a plus too. As i said above, i really like what i've discovered about the Double Tree.
