🎃 -- 🎃 -- 🎃 -- 🎃 -- 🎃 -- 🎃 -- 🎃YEP I MADE IT THROUGH NYC AND JERSEY CITY WITH NO SCRATCHES AND ONLY GOOD MEMORIES.
so we actually left at 7am on my birthday because hotels are expensive as shit and ya but we ended up getting there at like 3pm.. like to Hoboken.. I WENT TO CARLOS' fUCKIN BAKERY (aka cake boss) and it wasn't as packed as you think and Buddy's friend (?? I think) and his older sister were there helping running the shop.. FUCKIN COOL SHIT
I got a whole cake which by the way... all the desserts and everything was food porn ACTUAL FOOD PORN. I have never in my life seen such perfect looking food and they weren't displays!!!!!
keep in mind I'm from a much smaller town in Ohio so this is all completely new to me.
I got an oreo cake which I thought "its probably just for show" BOY WAS I WRONG. The wait was probably only 15-20 minutes and i got an entire cake for $30 which again that's fuckin amazing to me considering where I got it from and where I was. So we took it back to the hotel and they didn't have plates and i didn't wanna take it out of the box since I wanted to take it home if I could so i just fuckin ate it in the box LMAO. THERE WAS OREO ICING.. OR SOMETHING THAT HE ADDED BUT OMFG......best cake of my entire fucking life ILL TELL U WHAT.
Okay so then we took a ferry and then a train over to the store I specifically wanted to go to which by the way, we were not prepared AT ALL of how the subway system worked when we first got there.. anyway I went to Obscura, which if you saw Oddities on netflix, thats where I was!!! both of them were actually there and it was THE COOLEST FUCKING PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. please don't hate me but i really love skeletons and animal bones.. so I did get a raccoon skull.. really not super expensive. I got my muskrat skull (its also inside a lantern) for like 15 i believe, deer skull for 25, and the raccoon for 30.
I had a friend that was supposed to come with me and she got sick so I got her (and myself) a poster.. which are fucking cool as shit. I don't like a lot of posters and I actually only have one other one that I love. but they fit my room so well I just kinda had to. I ended up spending 100 dollars c':
So after that I tried to get to nintendo world.. it was like 7 something and we just left obscura. It was like an hour walk but it was quick and I was getting where we needed to go.. MY FUCKIN PHONE SHUTS OFF SAYING ITS DEAD so i leave my mom to it. She says "lets take a train" which wasn't an option for me on my phone, hence walking. So we get on this fucking train and 16 stops until 45th st which we assume is still in Manhattan.. NOPE WE END UP IN FUCKING BROOKLYN. MY MOM TOOK US TO BROOKLYN AND WASTED AN HOUR. Nintendo world is closed so we just go back to the hotel and charge our phones. my phone wasn't actually even dead it just shut off for a few hours.
Okay so there's a restaurant that I used to go to here and it did really well here. they closed and so did a lot of the ones in Ohio. so it was in fuckin NJ. So obviously I fucking went there but my mom kept missing the exit and taking the wrong ones c': i was starting to get annoyed because i was really hungry and I haven't eaten there in probably about 4 years. So i ate there and had dessert which is my favorite fucking thing in the world. AND ALSO I DRANK AND ACTUALLY GOT A BIT TIPSY.. i was scared of getting sick or drunk i dunno. AND IT WAS A COOL EXPERIENCE. also friday night i tried straight rum and almost choked so theres that LMAO
but once i took off my make up at the hotel i hit the bed and I was out in 10 seconds LMAO THANKS ALCOHOL. i felt all warm and fuzzy
Next day, get up, go to 9/11 memorial since it was on the way.. then times square and holy fucking shit. H&M HAS THREE FLOORS.. Forever 21 HAS 4 FLOORS.... didney store has two floors... ugh AND A SANRIO STORE OMFG EVERYTHING WAS SO FUCKING CUTE. UGH.
I got my first tsum tsum tho and i love it so much.
so we try finding nintendo world and we get to rockefeller plaza.. okay people are walking around with bunny ears and i fucking want them, they're cute as shit.. we found Nintento world first... CLOSED ON EASTER FUCK c': Obscura and Nintendo world were the only two places I wanted to really go to.. anyway i had to find these ears..
the whole street was filled with people and it was fucking craaazy turns out there's a parade and we probably just walked right through it (it didn't seem like a normal parade) people were wearing crazy looking hats and wearing crazy outfits.
I also ate hella good pizza, went to central park which was crazy beautiful. I went to urban outfitters and laughed at the prices of clothes.. we don't have one here so i can't laugh in person but i can laugh online. I did buy a moon light and it has the phases of the moon on it. i just wanted it and again, it fits in my room.
my room is a halloween theme
so then I had to catch the next train to world trade center, get on the path train to Jersey city and back home.
but before I got on the subway there was st pauls church and it had this really old cemetery so u best believe I went in there and took some pictures..anyway..
Cake made it home 10/10 and so did my chocolate nachos. i came home to hella easter candy my dad left for me
NYC was absolutely beautiful and i wanna go back again c': i already miss it actually.
before I left I was told that its a huge culture shock but honestly I wasn't shocked or overwhelmed at all. I think the only thing that actually shocked me was how people drive in NJ.. not NYC because i've already heard and seen how people drive there. fuckin crazy tho. i'll probably post pictures soon ♥♥
