Thoughts?

On streaming.
Do you watch art streams?
If so, why?
Do you think I should stream more?
Do you think it impacts consumers?
Let's talk.

FA+

One, to learn and look at how other artists work.
Two, to follow progression on a piece that interests me.
As for thinking you should stream, that's all up to you. I stream few times, but mostly behind a password to let people follow my progression when it involves their character. Other than that, I don't see much value in it myself, perhaps to have company during drawing, but I have Skype open anyway.
Do you think it adds any consumer value, in that it can be seen/used as a type of advertising?
I usually watch them just to support my friends and hang out a bit, I almost never watch them from people I don't know unless I like their art a LOT.
I actually haven't known you long enough to estimate how much you stream, other than 3 times I think? (Either that or I just don't notice because I am not on FA) So I really can't say to stream more or less!
Streaming art can have various negative and positive effects of course...
Some people will watch their art being streamed and whine about EVERY little detail if you don't do it perfectly... OR it could possibly distract you or make you more nervous and affect your drawing abilities. That's the negatives. >.=.<
But other people just enjoy watching "something come from nothing", like me. I love watching a blank page evolve into something that captures emotion or movement-- or is just a badass dragon! :D
It lets you connnect with your audience a bit more than simply seeming like *Insert money into magical internet slot -- art comes out a couple days later* and even if you don't use your mic, in a way it makes me feel like I know the artists a bit better when they do choose to chat in the chatbox.
I'm just trying to economize and optimize my drawing processes. I want to move forward with commission work, but I need to make sure I learn what things are going to help me along the way.
The only reason I think I stream is because it serves as a small advert, seeing that you can post some sort of stream banner and then take it down after. Also because it's nice to have a bit of company. But it does detract from focus, so, I need to see if the bit of advertisement is worth it.
