So after hours of troubleshooting, i narrowed it down to an issue with my laptop itself.
its been defragged, theres no malware or viruses....
so a system restore was suggested since the last windows update was around the same time my tablet started hating me.
Only the system restore failed because Avast wouldn't let go of a virus definition. So now even though the error window tells me that NOTHING has been changed or altered due to the failed restore, SOMEHOW all my deleted files from the last 24 hours are back, the icons on my desktop have been moved, a program re-installed itself, and TWO programs including the three hours I spent configuring Gimp have all been removed. Gone.
So everything I did last night was for nothing.
And to add insult to injury, now my whole laptop is lagging as bad as my drawing programs were. nothing opens fast anymore. everything is sluggish. absolutely everything.
..... oh look! it also deleted any work i did on those ghost pictures including the raw pdf files!!

i am seriously hating everything right now.
A lot of the other things sound like Registry issues. Which is such a trouble maker.
Why must computers be so complicated?
No, really. The only reason Windows even still HAS a registry, is because so many programs depend on it, and they can't ever release a new version of Windows that'd be incompatible with them because it would never sell.
That's also why the perennial advice for a slowed down computer is to reinstall Windows: registry clutter.

i was more pissed off that my computer refused to fix itself, insisted nothing changed but then it changed everything anyways. fucking liar...
Time to find a tech savvy friend whom knows these machines better then the companies that try to overlord them.
My comp was starting to get sluggish a bit lately, and it's a gamer comp that is barely two years old, so I spent the day yesterday doing maintenance and defrag (2tb Drive takes a long time to defrag! LOL) And now it's not sluggish anymore.
I think there is a test version available, else you can also buy it or get it for free on the many sharing websites! ^^ Hope it helps.

nope. both photoshop and my games are still lagging. T_T
ill see if it cleared up my gaming at least but for now i cant draw at all on my laptop.
