I say go for it! There are not too many FA writers left around here and since Kammymau will be drawing something to go along with them you'll get quiet an audience wanting to read something from you.

I don't just think this could work, I KNOW it can.

They may be few and far between, but there are story artists out there who do story commissions.
While I can't say it'll be very profitable at first (we furries are a visual bunch.. we prefer to see what's happening rather than read and imagine it), stick with it and you'll get your niché.

Heck, if you want a good way to get into commissions and the like, why not get Kammy to do a YCH of a scene you can write a good story for? For example, have an adult picture, and then write a scene that leads up to it, depending on the characters involved. Maybe something like the couple having fun in the back room of a nightclub, and the story be about the night that it happens, like their meeting and what puts them in that situation.

In regards to writing about your own character's story, I'm doing that myself... albeit not actually WRITING it, as such, as I'm still trying to work out all the details of Gren's backstory (and it seems that every time I turn around, one of my characters changes and gets added to the story in some manner, so I'm constantly re-writing the canon lol)

I think you should definitely try it, especially if writing stories makes you happy. I'm not sure about the story commissions however but that could just be a personal issue since I like to create stories about my characters myself (but I don't know maybe there are people out there who would love to get stories written).
But the part about the story about your fursona, deffinitely go for it.

As someone who has been writing furry erotica for like 15 years I can definitely say, go for it. It feels good to get those stories out. You might try posting them on So Furry, more readers there and a lot of writers to talk stuff over with. My advice is get comfortable writing for yourself before you start commissions. I find full commissions hard to do so do ych for story ideas on my patreon instead. Oh I had a story accepted for a sofawolf book, once you feel confident you could try submitting work to them, there are a few publishers who take submissions for anthologies. Or you can also self publish, I did my first novel self published this year. I am probably getting too far ahead.

The best advice is to just do it, get feedback, consider feedback and work on stuff to improve. Rinse and repeat, good luck.

I personally have been trying to get into this, but it's hard to start. The motivation kinda falls out when there's no interest in your writing; so for now I just offer my writing skills to help out a few foreign friends with their English on their comics. But it's definitely good for your writing in general. Even just to get something, anything written down. Any chance you have to write you should take it! It betters your skill and your experience.

I know of several people who get paid a lot of money to write character descriptions and back stories for roleplay furry characters; one in particular adds a nice background and a small thing of art of the commissioner's character. It's cool, something you could always look into starting with!
