I'll cut to the chase: For years I've been working of a High Fantasy world, complete with you usual fantasy races. Humans, Elves, Dwarfs and Orcs but also Anthros.
With what I've been working on creatures such as werebeasts (Wolves, Lions, Bears, etc), Gnolls, Minotaurs and other human-animal hybrids all fall under a big umbrella of being a race of being intelligent, anthropomorphic animals, no transforming with the moon or transferring with a bite. Ceratianly nothing all that original, especially in this fandom, but here lies my big question:
How much is too much?
Granted, each tribe is relatively small compared to other races, and they're spread out across the globe according to what environment you would expect to find such animals in, but so far the sum total of Beast-Men tribes has reached, like, 26 different species! Give or take whichever I later decide are canon or not.
Have I gone too far?

if you can handle them all...but maybe dunno, focus on one tribe if there is an important character from that tribe, mention maybe the others maybe or for a moment :3

Its never too much as long as you can diversify the races; give them different personalities. If you have say multiple races who are warriors who are honour bound, that gets a bit dull after a while.

Agreed. I personally am not a fan the usual black-and-white clichés in slot of fantasy works so I try to bend around those as best I can within reason.

Unlike a lot of FA who seems to use a tonne of clichés and laziness
