I Have Been Upgraded
So, as I've been saying for a while, my old Toshiba has been on its last legs. She no longer charged batteries and couldn't use the power cord at all. I had a backup Toshiba, same model, but for whatever reason I could not get Photoshop to run properly on it.
Finally, after struggling with my hardware issues for a week while working on a freelance project, I decided enough was enough and broke out the credit card. Now I have a shiny new Microsoft Surface Book.
Now, I'm still working out some kinks, but initial impressions are mostly positive. Like the Toshiba, it takes a lot of initial tinkering to get it to work as an art tablet, but I'm getting her there. I'm going to take the new machine out to the diner with me today and work on a new Sprawl page. If she can handle that, then she can handle anything I'm going to throw at her.

Yea, Microsoft surfaces are good with art, good choice. :P

OP
I was surprised at how many artists were recommending the Surface over the Wacom Companion, which apparently produces better results but has a really high rate of hardware failure.

So far I'm loving the comic. I only have one teensy, tiny suggestion and that's to not repeat O'Malley so much. Aside from that the backgrounds are amazing as are the characters. It feels like a mix of Rock & Rule meets HEavy Metal with a dash of Blade Runner. Excellent stuff.
