I've been dealing with neck pain for quite a while now but its never been this bad. I've had it on and off for a couple years, I think it started with my first cashiering job. But it usually never stuck around long, it would just "flare up" from time to time and was only uncomfortable. Now its painful. Not "ahh screaming pain" but way past uncomfortable and way past annoying. Its distracting and affecting my ability to sit in this chair and draw, which is only making it worse at the moment.

Over the last couple weeks its been so bad that everyday when I get home from work I have to nap/lay down in bed for an hour or two just to help the immediate pain. I'm fine at the start of my shift at work but by the end Its painful. I keep twisting, turning grabbing, trying to massage (although its hard to reach) the area but I'm afraid I'm making it worse. Today its been bad and the pain is sharp.

The pain is right at the base of my neck surrounding a couple of the vertebrae, mostly on the left side. It seems to radiate from one area and right now its really bad so the whole base of my neck hurts and its going down the left side of my back, which its never done before. If I just lightly press the area the pain is really sharp. I think its muscle pain, maybe from bad posture since my neck is always bent looking down and work, and pretty much the same when I'm drawing? I dunno.

I know a lot of artists get cramps and pain in their hands from drawing but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced neck pain like this?? I just want it to end, I wish something could help this :( Its driving me nuts and I'm really frustrated..
