I love the Most Pawesome for all the reasons you say. ^^ Friendly macros are awesome. <3
That second one by ZP92 https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19654972/ is a favourite too. ^^ Such lovely paws, and I've definitely become a fan of the paws-pressing-on-glass thing. Even better with somebody happily trapped between!
That lovely winter cabin scene by Etuix https://www.furaffinity.net/view/19662899/ is very cool too. :) As you say, the lighting is beautiful and really helps that sense of warmth.
And yay for yet another lovely feature! Tag's work is really awesome, and so often shows off the paws so beautifully and passionately. :) I like his take on paws, how some of the enjoyment comes from other peoples' enjoyment of them, that's neat. And I can certainly relate to that feeling when you post a piece of art that you know is going to be kind of popular with the watchers, and wondering 'how long until ToeClaws sees and comments...' ;D And of course the combination of paws and BDSM is -right- up my street... ^^;
As for the other stuff, there needs to be more friendly macros and glass-floor type pictures! Both are sorely lacking amid the usual stuff.
On the note of music, I'm a huge synth-porn nut. I always adored the sounds of synthesizers and loved them being used in music, but the trend pretty much fell out of style by the early 90s. It's cool to see it making a comeback.
I'm in the same place with synth music. There are so many interesting and compelling sounds with that style of music that you largely stopped hearing it seems after the 80s and the tastes for pop music changed... though it seems like now and then these days, with us 80's children maturing, you can find more and more examples of modern music seeking out that 'retro' sound we enjoyed growing up with. :)
Some neat examples:
1979 "All of my Love", Led Zeppelin: https://youtu.be/zeVz5R2lDQk?t=2m30s (until 3:15)
1982 "Move Out", Yaz: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D3udbawA1Q (omg... the first 30s is absolute synth porn)
1983 "Sweet Dreams, Eurythmics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLmfSvy4rmo
1983: "Separate Ways", Journey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wY6i5vRlUU
1984: "Axel-F", Harold Faltermeyer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dASqLXiuomY
Or if you want REALLY pioneering Synth stuff, the Doctor Who theme written by Ron Grainer and performed for the first time in 1963 (yes... 53 years ago) by Delia Derbyshire at the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. The synthesizer took up an entire room, but they wanted to make something that sounded like nothing anyone had ever heard before:
1963 version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75V4ClJZME4
The theme was tweaked every so many years. For most of the 1970s, it was this:

And then of course by 1980, THE most awesome of all themes happened as it went synth crazy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2oCK89xxNQ
Heeeee. *grins* Okay... I better stop posting stuff, or I'm gonna need a cigarette. <_<
And yeah, Zel's opened my eyes to that too, just how far back some of the pioneering synth work actually goes! It's staggering to realise how early people were exploring electronic technology and how it could be used to make new forms of music. Needless to say with the Dr Who theme they definitely accomplished their goal of creating something entirely new! It's really fun hearing the different versions over the years, but neat how even now they've kept it true to its roots, tweaking the instrumentation but avoiding messing with it too much. They know they've got something great in that tune. ^^
Yeah, synth stuff goes back over 50 years ago, but like all things digital, it was immensely difficult and limited back then - they often existed only in large companies who could afford to have one. Great stuff though. And I'm glad to see them making a resurgence today.
And the Lamborghini Countach still looks friggin amazing.
And yes... the Countach was so incredible. Like so many kids in the 80s, I have pictures and posters of that beast. Still one of the sexiest cars ever. :3
I'm not sure that I ever actually had a poster of the Countach on my wall, come to think of it, but like any good 80's child it was always the one in my bran making me go 'if I ever win the lottery I am totally buying one of THOSE.' I'm still insanely jealous of the fact that Zel's actually gotten the chance to drive one. XD
Nnnnnnnf that GT350, oh goodness yes. <3 Especially in that dark blue with the black and silver stripes... that's obviously the colour mine would be in. XD I've read and seen about it but will have to give this article a read, looks like it goes into a lot more detail than I've had before! I don't think they're bringing the GT350 to the UK officially, but with them bringing the more civilian versions here, a Mustang GT V8 is definitely the car I am aspiring to own someday. A Dorey's gotta have a dream after all!
Vallhund's feature is pretty awesome, and I might have a little bit of an unfair bias here -- there's nowhere near enough Welcome to Night Vale fanart for my liking, and this is actually the first anthro-fanart I've ever seen of it! Really cool to see, and wonderfully executed! Very crisp and clean design. :D Dalmatian!Cecil is a pretty interesting idea! :'D
StarvinArtMajor's feature is really gorgeous -- the colours are soft yet bright, and the overall design is lovely; the character looks very soft and gentle -- hooray for fluffy dragons! :D
Oselotti's work is always really fun to see; I will never get tired of that awesome, painterly style! It's such a unique look~ I think this one is my favorite this time around. :'3
Have a look at some of the other "Easter Egg" series that StarvinArtMajor did; there are some really amazing colours at play in the images.
Ose's style is definitely very unique. He really nails a good paw-scene, and I love how clearly he conveys the emotions of a scene like that.
