Idle curiosity, but is there any particular reason so many people are obsessed with military history? (In particular, the world wars, but more generally, it seems military history is the most popular type.)
Maybe perhaps because of the abundance of information on it? Although I have an interest in the wars, too, I don't really focus on dates or events so much but more of what the experience was like. What did people feel and think when these things were happening? I also have an interest in experience of every day life in the past. That said, such things are much harder to research than battles. It's just a guess, though.
